Halogen Lamp Socket for 118mm T3 Halogen Light Bulbs with 18 Inch Wire Leads - Premium Quality - UL Listed (1 Pack)

The part was an exact replacement for a halogen torchbearer lamp and restored the lamp to service. The old socket had gotten corroded on one contact, leading to high resistance and heat that burned up bulbs. I was really happy to find this replacement since the lamp had been out of service for weeks.

Out of the package, the fixture holds the bulb too loosely; when mounted on a flat base, the contacts bend toward the center, too tight to remove the bulb without danger. Now that I know this, I can work around it, using spacers under the bracket, but a simple thing like this should be more straightforward, or at least come with detailed instructions.
