Our squirrels give these 2 tiny paws up! Us humans like them too!
After trying two other brands, one other brand here from Amazon and another in store, I decided that these were the ultimate winner. I love that they are much easier to crack than other brands and most of the time I can get the two halves apart without breaking them into a million pieces (This was not the case for the other two brands I tried that were both too hard, broke apart into useless tiny pieces and had more rotten ones than good ones. ). I like to go through several bags before leaving a review so that I can also talk about the consistency of the brand. NUTS U.S. has been a very consistent brand as far as quality, freshness, price and availability. Since I live in Oregon they don't have to travel too far either coming from California. A few times a week I give these to our growing family of yard squirrels to help them with "teething" during the summer and spring months till our Oaks start dropping acorns. This is a necessity for squirrels as their teeth can grow up to 2" every year. Giving them a good hard nut in the shell is good for them and keeps them from finding other hard things to chew on for relief from the constant growing pains - Like your decks, rails, pillars, planter boxes, etc. They cannot help the "Chewing" part or they would always be in pain so a good hard nut helps "File" down their teeth and keeps them away a little longer as it takes them more time to get through harder nuts (NEVER give a squirrel Brazil Nuts due to the high selenium content!! And peanuts, unless Raw are really bad for them too. Never give a squirrel anything artificial, processed, roasted or salted! Only give them what they would find in nature.) or, when they are done eating, it takes them longer to find a place to bury them since the bigger the nut, the more concealed a place they want to hide it. I have seen them wander around aimlessly for 10-15 minutes trying to find a place to hide the bigger bounties. FYI...it's a "Myth" that squirrels "Lose" their nuts, they don't. Many studies have proven that myth to be false and, the fact that I don't have a million walnut, hazelnut, pecan and oak trees growing in my large backyard where they bury 90% of the nuts I give them that they don't eat was all the proof I need of that. Are these good for human consumption too? Absolutely, our little furballs only get about half our bag of nuts, the rest, go to us...dipped in melted chocolate! YUM!

My squirrels love these nuts!
My squirrels love these nuts very much!! Each bag contains a nice mix of walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts, almonds and hazelnuts. Nuts are fresh and had very few broken shells. I highly recommend and will continue to order more every couple of weeks.

I removed one star because some of the shells are empty but other that that quality of walnuts is really good. This will be my regular purchase now.

Absolutely the best!
Bought for a few local squirrels to sample and based on their JOYOUS and EXUBERANT responses, I expect these are the gold star standard for walnuts in North America, perhaps the entire world! Karl and Not Karl select these walnuts over any random nuts served at what we call the ‘Grand Squirrel Buffet’. I’ve spotted squirrels from across the development make the long trek over and stay late, as long as the server continues to refill the buffet. They really like the ‘Walnut and Spring Water Pairing’ when offered, usually on weekends and holidays. 5/5!!!Will be purchasing again and again!!!!

Good service, product looks good
I found the taste of the walnuts to be a little stale, kind of old. When I ate on a slightly off taste - maybe the walnut oil was starting to go bad. Not sure what cooking with the nuts would do to the taste.
