Hyde 45005 15" Paint Shield

Thin, very easily bent garbage. Nothing like the ones I used to use years ago.

Photo shows a metal blade of a reasonable thickness with a riveted plastic handle. What I got was a one piece stamped shield out of thin metal. With multiple dents and bends.

This is barely thicker than aluminum foil. In fact you might as well make it out of that and safe yourself $10. Not worth the price.

This paint shield is a nice, useful accessory paint tool that comes in handy and performs well. I use it to shield paint from my wood trim throughout my condo, when painting. It is lightweight and easy to handle, and very practical. Furthermore, it is very affordably priced and should not be overlooked by any painter.

Item was a thin piece of aluminum... when received item it was bent very badly but the package was not damaged

4 stars for the actual product.But zero stars for the shipping method.I have used this paint shield before and works good. I used to buy them at the local “big box” hardware store but they no longer carry them. This is how Amazon shipped it to me. They placed the 15” item in a 14” shipping bag. Then folded the flap over to seal the bag.Then it was shoved inside my mailbox. Why was this not shipped in an appropriate sized box?

I guess I should have taken previous reviews more to heart. This is indeed very flimsy. Arrived with a bent edge, which would have prevented a nice seal along any painted edge. I'm going to use the cardboard my cat food comes in. Just a little thicker and far more sturdy.

Very cheap they were all bent up when I got them wast of money
