Okay for kids
The songs have the lyrics and the letter codes for the tines you need to play. The songs are strictly for kids. I found that several of the songs have notes that will sound incorrect if you are familiar with the songs. I assume this is because the songs had to be re-arranged because the real versions of the songs contained sharps and/or flats and the Kalimba doesn't have those kinds of notes. Three of the songs had two versions with the second version provided "for a more voiced sound." Even those did not fit the notes I'm used to hearing for those three songs. But this could be a good first song book for the very young who are trying to learn how to play a kalimba.

Good content for young kids, made cheep, overpriced
It's a good book for young kids to learn music without jumping into reading music. I bought this for my 5 year old and he is able to play some portions of the book, with practice I expect him to do nicely with the content. The pages are nice and colorful and fun to look at. However, this book was 14.00 and is cheeply made. The cover is flimsy and pages are like printer pages, thickness wise. I play many instruments and have bought some expensive books in my time, 40-50.00 range. My method cello book cost less than this and has thicker pages and a thick durable cover. As it stands this book should be priced for half the price, if not less. Something marketed for children should be durable, not in a state thats less quality then regular music books. It's a good concept but I don't see it lasting unless I keep it on my book self and that's not what it's for...

Good Book!
Really cute and small book. The notes are correct sounding (the only thing is it doesn’t say what octave the notes should be played in)! I recommend for any beginner trying to get a few songs under their belt!

Not what I was looking for
I was hoping for a variety but most all of these are like church songs or old hillbilly tunes. Buffalo Gals, Amazing Grace, Boil Them Cabbage Down. I should have shopped more closely. I was looking for light and pretty tunes. This is not it. Probably good for a kid.

Songs for young people but it works!
This is what I mean! Easy to read although somewhat "young" songs but I can follow it and that's what counts.

Simple but a good place to start
The book shows you the notes to play, if you have the stickers on the tines you will know exactly what to play. This book does not use the Kalimba Tablature system so you either need to know the notes in your mind or have the stickers. The songs are focused on easy and quick learning, don't see this as learning songs as much as a tool to get used to the instrument. The songs are just a tool, but also something a kid, or you could play for your kid.
