Good school book
This book was purchaed for a language arts project for my junior high daughter. Even dealing with the unpleasant subject matter of the Holocaust looming in the background she enjoyed the story very much. Lovely reading. Recommended by her.

Amazing Doesn't Even Begin To Cover It
Like the title says, amazing doesn't even begin to cover it, I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!It made me want to laugh, it made me want to cry, it made me want to sing, it made me want to scream...all at different points and for different reasons...I was amazed how quickly the 213 pages flew by, and by how sweet the words were. The romantic, beautiful parts made me smile wistfully, the painful parts made me want to reach out and comfort Chris and Adam...I felt so close, I really thought i could...I was right there next to both of them the whole time. I was in the bus seat in front of the two when Adam finds out what Chris's father did,I was kneeling next to Cris when she was in the confessional,I heard Adam tell Chris he loved her in the bustling streets of NYC, I slid under the whole in the fence right behind them...the way Bat-Ami told Chris and Adam's story kept the reader close by at all times, something that some novels don't always have, making you feel like a pain old reader. The end left me hopeful and hanging, praying that there might be a sequel...which there isn't...Also, Chris is Catholic, I am too and it was another way I felt connected to the characters...BEAUTIFULI actually checked this book out from our local library, and I really wish I hadn't...I have this feeling it's going to be permanently checked out. I'm 14 (Using my mom's account) and I love this book...just read it.

A love story for young adults
This a story of a young girl, Christine Cook who is experiencing her first love with a boy named Adam. It just so happens to be a forbidden first love. Adam has just arrived at a refugee camp in Oswego, New York for Jewish people fleeing from Yugoslavia. Christine is forbidden to go to the refugee camp by her father. She disobeys his wishes and becomes friends with Adam. She soon develops her first crush on him. She gets an indescribable feeling when she is with him and soon discovers that she is in love with him. Through the school year she continually sneaks to the refugee camp to see him, until they both finally realize that they can not continue seeing each other because of the harm it is causing Christine's family. This is an amazing book for young girls who are experiencing their first love. The story is beautifully told with out containing any graphic material and leaving just enough to the imagination. Christine shows girls how to deal with the insecurities they are facing in their lives. Christine's true self is portrayed by being described as strong, and adventurous, which both of these apply to many teenage girls. I think all teen girls should read this book by Miriam Bat-Ami, because of the adventure it sends you on as a reader and the ending that seems very appropriate.

A Very Good Book
Two Suns in the Sky by Miriam Bat-Ami is a wonderful story about first love and tolerance. The setting and events in the novel are based on factual events. The story is set during World War II. Jewish refugees come to the United States and stay at a refugee camp. Located at the site of Fort Ontario, a decommissioned army base, the Emergency Refugee Center served as a holding center for refugees until plans were finalized for their return to Europe or resettlement in the United States. This book is exciting, sad and it represents the reality of life for Jews during the War.Miriam Bat-Ami has done an amazing job with the characters and setting. Her use of parallel voices chronicles both the problems of Jewish refugees and the responses to the refugees by Americans living near the shelter. She reinforces many of the themes and conflicts in the book by introducing each chapter with quotes from former refugees or other historical personages.

Two Suns in the Sky
This book was very good. Its title is Two Suns in the Sky and the authors name is Miriam Bat-Ami. This book involves a young boy and a young girl that meet each other from a refugee camp. Adam is the boy who came from Yougoslavia on a ship to come to America to be free from the war that has been going on. Christine Cook who is the girl that has lived in America her whole life begins to fall inl ove with Adam. I would reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys a story with a little romance in it and in the same timeinformation about a war that is going on in the story and how people from Yougoslavia and other places come to America to be free from the war. I liked this book a lot and I hope i can find more books by this came author to read in the future. Now i am a little more consiuos on how refugees were treated and how other people did not like them just because they were sent to America to be free and safe form the war and at the same time some of their family members are fighting over in their country to make their country independent and free like America. I enjoyed this book and I would read another Holocaust book in the future.
