8-Light Wood Kitchen Island

Love this light! It is beautiful and looks great above my kitchen table. I purchased separately the vintage light bulbs. I would have given this a 5 star review but two corners are separated. Didn’t notice until it was already hung which is a big bummer since we now have to uninstall and then reinstall a new one not to mention having to return this. I also would’ve liked the wooden part to be a little bit darker color of wood.

We really like this light. It goes well with our furniture and with eight lights it can be really bright (we installed a dimmer). Fortunately it's actually fairly stable and doesn't twist much - though it takes a little tweaking to get it to stay aligned correctly initially since it is supported by just the one chain.The one negative is the instructions are fairly weak. If you're new to installing lights I suggest getting some help. If you've done a few, you can figure it out easily enough.One suggestion: Make the wire connections in the disk right above the light where the four rods connect first. Then put the light on your ladder to connect the ceiling wires and hang it. The reason I didn't give this a 5 star is because the instructions are vague at best. We discovered the 2 screws in the parts bag are to attach the supplied bracket to the existing bracket we already had from the previous light. We had to leave the screws a bit loose so the bracket dropped down from the ceiling slightly so once the cover was put on, it allowed the cover to go on while also exposing enough of the screws to put the cap nuts on. First we tightened the bracket securely on the existing bracket but then when we put the cover on, the screws didn't come through enough to put the cap nuts on. We still don't know what the little plastic double hole part was for. There are wires coming from the light fixture that isn't even mentioned in the instructions. We discovered you feed this wire through any one of the four arms, then feed the wire into the round box that the light hangs on. The decorative piece on the top actually unscrews and you can see the 2 wires that merry up with the light wires. Use wire nuts, screw the decorative nut back on and you should be good.This thing took 3 times longer to install that it should have because the instructions are so crappy. After it was hung I won't say it was worth it because it was so frustrating but I do love the light. I bought Vintage Edison bulbs that look absolutely awesome in the light.

First, this item was packaged very well. It came in a fairly good sized box with plenty of packaging to protect the content.The quality itself is decent. No issues with the finish or fitment of the pieces.Several reviewers of this item complained of the instructions, or lack of. To be honest, I never even looked at them. Chandeliers are fairly straightforward to install and if you need instructions, you probably shouldn’t be doing it to begin with. It was a very simple install and when you have everything laid out, it is very easy to visualize. I was replacing a chandelier so it was cut and dry. I just removed the old and spliced in the new.Ended up purchasing amber bulbs from Home Depot to give it an old fashioned look to it.All in all it exceeded my expectations considering the price.

I looked a long time for a large rectangular light fixture with a single pedestal. We just had a custom built dining room table constructed of quartersawn oak built by our friends in the Amish community. Most light fixtures look small in comparison to the table plus, we were limited to the circular pattern in our ceiling which required us to use a one pedestal light. This one is perfect and we are very happy with the way it looks.The hardware is attractive but the wood is probably a little less quality than what it should be and the factory assembly lacks a little to be desired in that the wood finish is scratched in several places. But that’s not the big problem.There is a metal, U-shaped ornamental part that is attached with two thumb screws. When we first installed the light, one of those ornamental parts fell off the fixture and damaged the table top. The part is constructed if thick metal and it’s pretty heavy. I reinstalled it and went through the remaining parts tightening all the thumbscrews. What I’ve noticed now that the second part has fallen off is that tightening the thumbscrews causes the U-shaped part to spread apart. The second occurrence has really put a deep cut in the table top that you can feel with your finger and see the blemish in the finish.I’m not sure how to fix this to keep it from happening again. I wondered why they didn’t put wood screws in these parts and suspect it is because electrical wires run with in the wooden parts so drilling may damage those wires.I’m taking the parts off until I can come up with a permanent fix. Right now I have an $8000 table with two obvious dents in the top.

I was a little nervous to buy this chandelier because people were saying it was difficult to assemble and install but I figured we would give it a shot because I loved the look of it. My husband was able to install the light with some snags but he did get it up and running. The instructions really were not that good but he figured it out. The light is beautifully and looks well made. I did not see any gaps in the corners of my chandelier like some of the pictures In the reviews. The chandelier looks impressive and works great without dimmer switch we bought the lights that were recommended by amazon and it really looks beautiful in my farmhouse dining room. I love my chandelier so glad I bought it.
