Great Price and the exact recommended MERV for most
Unless you suffer from really severe asthma or have major allergies to microscopic airborne particles, the MERV-8 is in fact the *recommended* filtration for optimal operation of your central air conditioning system that's equipped with a central "Media Filter". Why spend $30~$35 each at your local home improvement store when you can get two for 40 bucks from Amazon with free shipping?. Should be a no-brainer. Recommended replacement interval is every 6 months unless you have a boulder-catcher (99¢ variety pre-filter) downstairs in your cold air return(s)

pretty good air filter, mine didnt come with the self-sealing gasket as pictured (the black strip along the two sides) so minus 1 star for that.

Actual product dimensions appear to have changed
I bought these as an exact replacement for my existing filter - same brand, size, etc.Package arrived, removed from wrapping, went to install - and it doesn't fit right. I can't even get the cover back on the blower properly. I don't know if the manufacturer has changed the frame size since the last time we got these, but they're not the same as my old ones. Extremely disappointed with this purchase.
