Sturdy wee Pixie Nespresso pod machine
Why did you choose this product over others?:This is a fantastic wee machine, sounds like a small jet but not too loud. Comes with a UK plug and very neat. I received 50 free pods and 2 x free travel mugs, which was an offer for buying a new machine when you register it. I only had to buy 10 pods to redeem the offer.Durability:Really sturdy and well made, out of mostly metal. The piston action is satisfying and it doesn’t automatically eject the pod do the you can run the water through again if you wish.

So far, so good
1 week in, i'm using it (having retired my 18 year old Gaggia Classic). So far, so good. I have not noticed any issues of leaks or sputtering on Aldi generic pods (i have also used Nespresso). Heats up quickly, as most systems do.I use it for Lungo shots, I make them up to long coffee's with a touch of milk. I have emptied the pod catch tray just once so far, and although there is a small amount clear water in there, having used a mix of Nespresso and Generic, I don't know if this is 'spill' from use of generics or if it is clear water run off drips from the release mechanism, as it does dislodge some trapper water from the spout, so no reason to imagine it wouldn't from the rear either? Doesn't appear to any hassle to me, so far.So far, I like it. Neat and tidy on the bench top, larger tank than some, but not as large as my Gaggia.

Perfect 👌
Simple to use & perfect coffee every time. I drink black coffee but like a good creme & this machine does that.

Good espresso
This replaced my previous Krups, good espresso but not as easy to use as you need to take the cup off before changing the pod for another shot.

A game-changer
I've been eyeing up espresso coffee machines for a while now, but wasn't sure whether to bite the bullet or not. Safe to say I'm glad I did - this Nespresso Pixie has really upped my coffee game!I love a morning coffee but didn't love the faff of making it. I've been using the Pixie for a week now and it's made my morning coffee routine SO simple! The machine is really simple to use, it heats up quickly, and within 2 minutes you have a gorgeous espresso ready-to-go. Not only is it simpler and less messy, but I’ve found the quality of the coffee to be a lot better than my old manual brewing ways. I feel like I’m getting a fancy coffee shop coffee every day, but without the price tag! I really am converted. The machine itself is compact and fits well in a small space. I like the dark green panelling on the sides which adds to the premium look of the machine whilst keeping it simple and sleek. The only thing I’d change about the design is having a removable drip tray instead of one that flips up - as someone who likes a big mug I’d prefer to just take the tray off completely. If you’re an espresso or small-coffee drinker though, you won’t notice this. The water tank is surprisingly big which is great as it means you’re not constantly re-filling it. I recommend using filtered water in there for the best coffee. I was a bit worried about how noisy it would be but it’s been completely fine. The first couple of seconds are a little louder, then it settles into a chilled hum. Cheers Nespresso for adding a little bit of luxury to my mornings, I couldn’t live without it now!

Espresso's anytime you want... delicious and fast
Honestly, I never thought I'd be this enthusiastic about a coffee pod machine, but this Nespresso Pixie is brilliant. I used to think pods weren't very good compared to pre-ground coffee from the supermarket. But was I wrong! First off, this thing is fast, really fast. In the morning, within 60 seconds of coming into the kitchen I can have a delicious espresso, no more instant for me. And the coffee is amazing - so much flavour.. They have loads of different pods too, which is great because sometimes I want a really strong coffee and other times something a bit smoother. You can even get decaf ones! But the best thing is how versatile it is. Obviously, it makes amazing espresso's, but I also use it for other things. Chuck in a scoop of ice cream and boom - instant affogato! It's even great for making cocktails like espresso martinis- which I've enjoyed a cheeky 1 or 2 of!. Also, I had a milk frothing wand and made a passable cappucino- I'm definitely going to get a better milk frother to go with the pixie! If you're looking for a quick and easy way to make delicious coffee (and more!), then definately give the Pixie a go. You won't regret it!

Coffee with Convenience!
Pixie arrived in quite a substantial box, it gave the impression the unit would be quite big. Upon opening the box the Pixie was smaller than the box gives you for an impression, however it was incredibly well packaged to protect the unit from damage, it is the perfect size for any kitchen. The design of the Pixie is a classic, a lovely forest green panel on each side, I am a big fan of the colour now I have it.The pod mechanism and the cup shelf are metal, this gives the unit a feeling of being well built. The pod mechanism is smooth and is somewhat satisfying to use, and gives a gratifying clunk as it engages with the pod.Water reservoir is a respectable size, it can easily make 4 or 5 "lungo" or long coffees, I have found myself circulate towards the long coffees as part of breakfast. However the Pixie is also capable of making a very respectable espresso. The machine heats up quickly and before I know it I have coffee ready to go. When you are finished the pods drop into a internal container and the drip tray also runs off into its own container below the pods, the whole thing can be removed in one for cleaning with minimal mess. The Pixie is a joy to use, quick, simple, and easy.
