Woll Concept Plus Multi-Function Collapsible Silicone Steamer & Colander Insert, 9-1/2", Gray

The strainer is very thick quality silicone and sturdy enough that, when placed in the sink, maintains its full extended shape without collapsing or requiring support from the cook. It has large handles, and the colander/steamer insert maintains its size when moved from a steamer position without changing shape in any way. I found it interesting that the description mentions it can be used as a trivet or splatter guard which I have yet to test for its functionability. I thought the cost a little high, but was able to watch for it to be offered on sale. The only negative quality I've noticed is that, upon arrival and unpacking, it had a strong rubbery smell that did not fade after washing. The smell, however, is not a smell that pervades the entire room, nor is it a smell that would discourage me from using it. It is only noticeable if you're an individual who does a smell test for silicone-type products like me. Other than the smell, I am extremely happy with this purchase.

I am so impressed by the quality construction and the function of this colander that can also be used to steam veggies. I purchased one for our vacation home as it's collapsible and fits nicely into a drawer. The size is perfect to wash and cook veggies. I'm planning on buying another one for our home. Well worth the money.

This thing is fantastic. I bought it so I didn't have to buy a whole new pasta pot when my old one broke. I was just going to put this in as an insert into a large pot I had. Although that does work well, it reduced the diameter of the pot I used making it a little crammed for the amount of pasta I needed to cook. Ended up using it collapsed on top of the pot to prevent boil-overs. When the pasta is done, I expand it out and use it as a strainer/colander. It also works well as a steamer (using it partially open). I use it when boiling potatoes as well -- prevents the inevitable boil-over. It's dishwasher safe, cleans up well, and stores flat. So happy with this purchase.

just got it, the size is wonderful and material amazing. The only thing i would change is the holes are a little too big for my taste. O'course it can be used for two purposes. I'm just going to use it for a colander. Worth the money I SPENT. i would like to see some more of their colanders and products. I haven't used it yet so hopefully function is great too.

Space saving collapsible. Fits multiple sized pans. Use then pop in dishwasher.

I am glad I purchased, the 9.5 inch fit in my 5.5 qt dutch (LE CREUSET 24) oven nicely. I do not want stainless in that enamel pot. Now I can steam veggies and also use as a pasta strainer. I like that its collapsing to save space. It's perfect to set the heavy lid on. Cannot verify what county it is made in. Box only states engineered in Germany, so could be made somewhere else. Not sure.

Used probably once a month for the last 14 months. Pulled it out yesterday and found it in this condition. Since it split right on the seam where it collapses it obviously a manufacturing problem. Not upset except for the $40 dollars I spent on this. Looking at what's available on Amazon I have no idea why I bought this. The competing products are less that half the price, and have better ratings/reviews.

Love the versatility of this product. Can use it 3 ways. Collapses and expands really well. Very sturdy and robust.

If you need a touch of steam in your cooking this is the ticket. It's a steamer. It's a colander. It's a party hat. Packs up as flat as a nice pancake, and expands to different depths for different uses. The added bonus is it is made in Germany, and not in China.

Great product. we had our first one for many years and it got great use for many many years. I'm sure we won't need one for a while now but we will definitely buy again. great for saving space in the cupboards and dishwasher

Nachdem ich bei den WOLL® concept plus Töpfen Ø 20cm + 24cm bereits die Silikoneinsätze inklusive hatte, brauchte ich noch einen für meinen 28er Alugusstopf. Hier bin ich vor einem halben Jahr fündig geworden.Der Siebeinsatz ist sehr stabil, bleibt in Form und lässt sich trotzdem einfach falten. Je nach Bedarf komplett "entfaltet" als Sieb zum Abgießen von Pasta, Gemüse etc., als Einsatz im Topf beim Kochen von Pasta, einmal gefaltet als Dünsteinsatz und komplett gefaltet als Spritzschutz bzw. Topfuntersetzer. Das Sieb ist riesig, wenn man möchte, oder auch klitzeklein bzw. flach. Bei Nichtgebrauch dient es bei mir als Pfannenschutz zwischen 28er Topf und Pfanne und nimmt somit gar keinen Stauplatz weg.Kein Geruch - auch nicht beim/nach dem Kochen. Bei Silikon-Billigprodukten kommt es sehr oft zu sehr unangenehmen Ausdünstungen bedingt durch Weichmacher, sodass sogar das Gemüse nach Plastik schmeckt. Bei dem Woll-Sieb riecht und schmeckt man nichts.Die Reinigung geht schnell: einfach unter fließend heißem Wasser oder in der Spülmaschine. Das Silikon behält auch in der Spülmaschine seine Farbe und Form. Es sieht immer noch wie neu aus - keinerlei Abnutzungserscheinungen.Die Griffe bleiben auch dann kalt bzw. handwarm, wenn man das Sieb "mitkocht", denn die Griffe befinden sich außerhalb des Topfes. Sie sind außerdem sicher zu greifen.Der Lochdurchmesser an den Seitenwänden beträgt ca. 6,5mm, in der Bodenplatte ca. 4mm. Somit ist das Sieb nicht zum Kochen von Reis geeignet, weil die Körner durch die Löcher in den Seiten rutschen können.Alles in allem ein sehr praktisches und ansehnliches Küchenutensil, was ich nicht mehr missen möchte. Meine Empfehlung!
