How to Make a Must See List
This is an absolute must, specifically necessary for movie fans who'd like to check out the ratings and refined descriptions phrased by professional reviewersThis edition of VH Golden s the second volume I've bought--the first goes back to 2006-.Obviously, I'm not a fan who needs to buy the latest edition. I'm jake with picking up one every decade or so.If you want to keep abreast of the latest offerings to refine your renting goodies from Netflix or Amazon, this book is an excellent guide. It is a delight to be able to find quick reviews by pros whose judgments you've learned to trust. What is odd is recommending a book of reviews on a site filled with all manner of great reviews.**If you ever find a review by The Movie Guy trust it. Then hit his name button and bookmark his collection of reviews. If horror and gore its your bent, look for the reviews of The Slasher Diva, She is a specialist and master of the genre. Both reviewers turn out insightful and well crafted commentary.Enjoy them and the VH.

Fact Packed Reference Manual For Movies
An amazing treasure trove of information on movies back to the 1930's. The films are rated from 0-4 bones, as a reference to the VideoHound name. Most films I have looked up seem properly rated, or at least closely enough on something that is subjective anyway. Cast information is more complete than some of these type of books. There are indexes for directors and writers as well as actors. There are lists of S.A.G. and Golden Globe award winners as well as Academy Award winning films. Each film has a synopsis along with cast and director info, year of release, running time, original film MPAA rating (if applicable), critical reviews score in bones, awards won if any, home video formats, writer, cinematographer and even music composer. Also they note black and white or color plus songs of note from the films. I doubt if there is a more complete reference work for motion pictures. As to the print size it is not really that objectionable but might be more comfortably viewed with reading glasses. If you are apt to rent films or watch old movies on TV this book can help you find hidden gems and avoid some clunkers.

Thanx for the memories
REALLY heavy! That's okay. I was able to look up some really obscure movies that I had despaired of ever finding. This volume is arranged in several different ways; you can look by title, of course, but also see who (actors, directors) has been a part of how many movies.Much, much more. I found myself poring through this for waayy too many hours at a time. GREAT STUFF if you're a movie buff.

Good but could be a lot better!
Still the most comprehensive by sheer weight of numbers, but a disappointment again and ever since they chose to summarily dismiss old movies just to keep the size of the book down instead of going to two volumes. Who makes these decisions?

Feel pages instead of electronics flit by
We are the last Americans not to use smartphones (or smart anythings but our brains, for that matter). Therefore, we love having this next to our TV to look up movies (and we're old movie buffs). It is a great reference & easy to use. We actually do have an old desktop computer in our office downstairs, but it's much more fun to feel pages riffle beneath your fingers & discover other things as you look. We recommend it highly. Real books forever!

The Best Movie Book Ever
Just the thing for a movie addict. The best review collection I have ever seen. Much better and more interesting than any online resource, and great sense of humor. Example, about a horror movie "The Simpsons did it better". Does not have every movie, but also the biggest collection I have ever seen. Looks to me (as a guess) that all of the reviews reflect actually watching the movie, not copied from other sources.

Great reference to have on the shelf
A lot of pages but a wealth of information - suits the purpose of checking who is in what and why you should watch (or not) the various old time movies that make a comeback. Also short pithy comments on the current run of movies makes interesting reading and allows you to compare your own thoughts with the thoughts of others.
