Traditional Hand-Made Straw Archery Target,Arrow Target for Recurve Bow Longbow or Compound Bow

I have only a two layer target, I have shot it with everything from a 15 pound bow, to an 80 pound crossbow. They definitely hold up and stop all the arrows. It is a little difficult to get the arrows out of the target, but it’s a lot of fun putting the arrows in the target.

I got the largest version of this, as I'm not an amazing shot, and wanted to lose fewer arrows in the woods. This works well, though arrows do penetrate through the other side with all of my bows. These were from a 50# traditional recurve, though I get similar results with a 50# Chinese recurve, and a 40# English long bow.I wouldn't use this with a compound bow, as I'm not sure it would stop the arrows, but it seems to work well for traditional archery.

I recently got my hands on the KAINOKAI Straw Archery Target, the 32‑inch, 3‑layer version. It really looks amazing and has that unmistakably handmade vibe. Each layer is essentially a mat of coiled straw, and the front layer even has the straw wrapped in a polyester sleeve before it’s coiled into shape. All three layers are tied together with polyester twine, which adds to its unique, traditional look.Performance-wise, fresh out of the box it totally impressed me—it stopped over 150 arrows from my 33‑pound bow. However, as I kept shooting, I noticed that the areas with the heaviest arrow concentration started to soften. The center coils felt like they would come undone if I didn't brace it. This raises some questions about how durable it really is over time.For $99, it’s a bit of a gamble. While it definitely shows potential and has plenty of life in it, I’m leaning towards the idea that using traditional straw bales might be a more cost-effective solution in the long run. Plus, the polyester sheathing left some staining on my arrow shafts, which was a minor annoyance.Overall, I’m giving it 4 stars for now if the durability doesn't hold up I'll revise my review. It makes a great first impression and works well initially, but its durability and value are concerns if you’re planning on heavy, long-term use.

We got the 5 layer model, We love ours!Over 500 hits and it's holding up great.We all hold the target material in place while extracting the arrows else some of the cheaper 'practice' tips have a sharp edge that can pull material out from the target.. be smart while extracting.We all use black arrows, so I can't comment on the arrow staining as mentioned in another review.

This thing has been shot hundreds of times and it still holding up well. The only caveat is you need to figure out how to attach it to something. There is a strap that it comes with but I'm trying to attach mine to the side of a hay bale. Wire or something even an old arrow with the fin broken off would probably work
