Perfect Adapter for my use with 3.5mm mics into a MacBookPro.
I am a online Influencer, Live Streamer and Vlogger. I use a MacBookPro for recording and live streaming and generally forced to use a USB microphone or a USB Mixer in order to take advantage of great microphones that use a 3.5mm plug. This adapter has been flawless at converting 3.5mm to USB-C or USB 3.0 (with the included USB-C to USB Plug). No sound issues whatsoever, and allows me to use Lavaliers and headsets that are not USB direct. Works like a charm and has opened new doors for recording with a variety of mics. Also for 3.5mm headphones for monitoring if that is the usage required. All in all, this is a well-made and highly effective adapter that I am so glad exists! It's FIVE STARS for me along with a very hearty recommendation for Mac users who want to use a microphone that is 3.5mm and direct then to USB.*If you found my review helpful to you, please let Amazon know by clicking the "HELPFUL" button below!

This item is nice but
It does it job , but it's not made with anything of quality, but considering the price it's doing what I need it for until I can afford a better one, but I don't see this type and this one gave me exactly what I needed it for,

Great USB sound input/output
This is the only affordable USB sound device (<$25 when I bought) that I've used that does not suffer from ground/humming noises. All the other ones required the use of a ground loop eliminator. I would easily purchase this again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

More reliable microphone connection
I was always having problems using the audio output for a microphone input. This solved the problem.

Extremely low mic volume
This interface works, but the 3.5mm plug in power mic input volume is like 40% of literally any other 3.5mm plug in power interface I've tried with my RODE Videomicro mic (inc. ancient C-Media USB dongle, Blackmagic design ATEM mini 3.5mm mic in, RODE XLR-to-3.5mm in, Apple USB-C to 3.5mm dongle).I suppose that would be a good thing if you were recording something that's extremely loud, but I'm not, and so this Audio Technica device is unusable. Too bad, it seems nice otherwise.

Allowed me to input sound from my mixer into an M1 iMac
At first, this audio adapter seemed to work with some programs and not others. If you run into this problem, the issue is not with the Audio-Technica adapter; what you need to do is go into the preferences of the program and select the ATR2x-USB as the source mic instead of the default iMac mic. Once I had that figured out, I was very happy with the product.

Ottima per usi non professionali
È un’alternativa poco costosa ad altri dispositivi di alta gamma. Funziona bene per applicazioni non professionali. Un buon compromesso fra qualità e prezzo.

Good. Zero reliability issues.
I use this with my Sennheiser GSP300. Couldn’t be happier for the reliability.I’ve previously used Sennheiser’s own epos DAC. That had reliability issues everywhere. The raw mic performance of this is a bit staticky, but processed through discord’s or fb messenger’s mic cleanup, it sounds great.I’m no Audiophile, but I’ve got no complaints for the audio output.

This feels like my buddy's beater and sounds like the $5000 stereo system he installed in it.
I compared the ATR2x to the Realtek onboard sound that came in my Dell Latitude 7390 laptop and the Andrea Communications USB-UNIV Universal External USB TRRS Headset Adapter, using Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 32-Ohm headphones.I found a Dolby surround sound demo video on Youtube and tested using that. I played the same video several times with each sound card, and I came to the conclusion that the Realtek onboard sound and Andrea USB adapter sound identical. They didn't sound terrible, but compared to the ATR2x there was a noticeable difference.I found the ATR2x produced more detail and a much more immersive sound compared to the other two sound cards. It sounded like it would be the better choice for gaming our of three. The funny thing is, the Andrea Communications adapter costs slightly more brand new than the ATR2x adapter at the time of writing this review. I luckily found both in the Amazon Warehouse Deals section for around $10 each; $8.55 for Andrea Communications USB adapter and $12.14 for the ATR2x.The build quality is where the ATR2x suffers. It's abysmal for an Audio-Technica product. It feels like a cheap toy I'd give a kid. Even the volume adjuster switch is terrible. When I received the adapter, the switch was stuck in one position and wouldn't go back and forth. Fortunately I was able to fix it easily, and now it works. If you're planning to buy this adapter, then make sure you set it and forget it. Constant fiddling with the adapter will likely break it.This feels like my buddy's beater from back in the day which was a Pontiac Grand Am, but sounds like the $5000 stereo he installed in it. It actually caught be off guard, because that's how cheap the build quality feels. For the price I paid for the ATR2x ($12.14), I'll likely keep it despite the build quality and get my money back for the Andrea Communications adapter.

Works like a charm
There were tons of these type of USB audio adapters to choose from but I decided to go with a trusted name in audio and am very glad I did. This works perfectly with my MacBook Air.
