The right choice!
I was looking for a replacement filter for a very old Thermador “Trade Wind” Model H 6430 ESCB built-in ducted range hood, probably installed in the 1950’s. Based on the dimensions of the nasty old filter I had, this seemed like the correct replacement, and at $19.00 (total) the best price I could find anywhere (by far!). But I had some concerns about ordering this filter on Amazon. So I looked up the Amazon seller I chose, “Air Filter Factory” (in Vermilion, OH) online, and easily found their phone number. I quickly got ahold of a very knowledgeable and helpful customer service rep, each of the two times that I called their company. My first concern was how such a fragile filter could survive cross-country shipping. They assured me that if it arrived damaged in any way, they would replace it for free with no fuss. Great news, that the other reviewer who mentioned receiving one with “one of edges bent a little bit during shipping” probably didn’t know about. As it subsequently turned out, the single filter I ordered and received arrived VERY well packaged for shipment (almost ‘overkill’, for which I’m VERY grateful), and in flawless condition. So no problems there. My other concerns were fit and installation. Unfortunately, Air Filter Factory couldn’t confirm that this particular filter (listed here as "Thermador 19-19-266 Range Hood Filter Replacement") was the correct replacement filter based on my hood’s model number; evidently because it’s such an old unit. They simply couldn’t find my unit’s model number in their database or books. But they said if the dimensions matched my old filter, and since my unit is a Themador, they were very sure it would work. (My old filter laid-flat measured 30” x 9-5/8” x 3/8”thick, with 8”-long angled “wings” on either side of a 14”-long center section.) So, I ‘bit the bullet’ and ordered one.The filter was shipped directly from Air Filter Factory via USPS Priority Mail 2-Day, tracked and insured. It arrived packed flat, with a custom multi-layer corrugated-cardboard box wrapped tightly around it. It was brand-new, and covered in shrink-wrap plastic. There were only fairly light ‘score marks’ on one side of the frame, at four places exactly 8” inward from each end, indicating where the “wings” needed to be folded upwards. This bothered me a little, since it looked to me as though there were actual ‘notches’ cut out of the frame at those points, in the single Amazon listing photo. But the guys at Air Filter Factory said those presumed ‘notches’ were actually just reflected light at those four points in that photo.Okay; but I still didn’t like the idea of bending the “wings” up by hand, with only those light ‘score marks’ to guide me. I figured something bad would happen. So with the shrink-wrap still on the filter, I laid it flat on a firm surface (padded table top) with the ‘score marks’ facing up. Then I took a very dull flat-blade chisel, and GENTLY pressed the ‘score marks’ deeper. The filter frame is very soft aluminum, so this worked like a charm to make deeper ‘creases’. And the frame outer-edge has an inward center-crease running all along it, that prevents it from dimpling outward as it’s ‘crushed’. Perfect! I then placed a heavy steel straight-edge (one leg of a builder’s angle square) across the filter at the now-deeper ‘creases’, and GENTLY bent the frame (and aluminum filter mesh) upward against the straight-edge to create each “wing”. Easy! I probably could have bent the wings without all that; but this way they look perfectly straight and ‘factory-formed’.After then removing the shrink-wrap plastic from the now partially-folded filter, and with a little more freehand wing-bending to match the needed angles of my hood unit, I slipped it into its receiving channels. It fit perfectly! So I could not be more pleased! This all turned out beautifully, and I can highly recommend this filter for any similar application. If you don't have an old filter to measure, just check this product's dimensions against your range hood's filter channels, and you should be able to confirm whether it'll work. Thanks Amazon, and thanks especially to Air Filter Factory!

It is not as well made as the original but works well and I expect to replace it when it gets dirty rather than trying to wash it
The filter is inexpensive and fit my Thermador range hood perfectly . It is not as well made as the original but works well and I expect to replace it when it gets dirty rather than trying to wash it.
