I bought this as a cheap way to extract cells from small tissue samples. The glass counterparts were several hundred dollars, and so I took a risk on a far cheaper product because it's worth the risk. Compared to grinders you'd find in a lab these aren't as efficient but you'll still get significant cell dissociation. This is one of my favorite finds, the grinders are easy to keep sterile and function well with the standard 1.5 mL tube.Another convenient point is that if you fill a 1.5 mL tube with exactly 1.00 mL of liquid. When you insert the grinder the liquid will raise just below the cap. I don't know if this was clever or luck but it adds to the products charm.
