Wonderful Patterns and Education
Several patterns that I would use and give as gifts. Each pattern has beautiful photo of the finished project and detailed instructions. The book also gives informative information on different types of yarn and the environmental impact so you can make educated decisions on your projects. I also enjoyed the glossary of stitch abbreviations and the instructions with drawing on how to make some stitches you will use in your projects.

Lovely Book
Have not made any of the projects from this book, but there are a couple that I really like. I like using recycled yarn, indeed rip out sweaters and re-knit. Also I do like and appreciate organic yarns and use them whenever possible. Lovely book.

Great Collection of Patterns
This pattern collection is wonderful. I like to buy a pattern book with at least two projects I would knit. This book has at least five. Silly as this may sound, the colors used in the photos are very pleasing to the eye.

very disappointing
this book is very disappointing. the two best patterns are shown on the look inside part and the front cover - those being the cap and the burgundy tunic vest. most of the items are knit from some degree of bulky yarn, many of the sweaters look like they're just chopped off and are most definitely sweaters, not shrugs. the teddy bear is cute but too much binding off and picking up stitches and WHO would knit a baby's rattle and then put two little felt "ears" on it for the baby to suck on first and swallow immediately? the info about the yarns and the planet is of some interest but nothing that can't be found elsewhere. there is a backpack which is very lacy so either line it or beware what you put into it, and a pair of very casual slippers. that one did get my attention as it tells you that you can needle felt them and since i needle felt and have roving i'm wondering what to do with, i might just try that only i will needle felt the top and bottom and top seam together instead of sewing. however, that doesn't make up for the cost of the book. unfortunately the tunic vest on the front that i was interested in is knit in bulky weight, too heavy for the warm weather i wanted it for. there is one cute sweater knit in a dark brown (how dreary) with a hood but that's really about it for creativity. if you buy the book, buy it for the cap. it's really cute and might even be enough to make me want to knit with colors again - something i try to avoid as i detest weaving in and tying yarn and carrying yarn. so, this book really isn't for me, but may be for you. just be forwarned and go into it without any expectations and you may have a pleasant experience.

This book encourages Mindfullness - because these are critical considerations as we wend our way through the 21st Century.
I know I'll refer to this often. Oh, and the patterns are quite nice, too.

Knitting Green
I really like this book, it tells you all about natural fibers, and it has some nice patterns to go with it. I'm very happy with this book, can't wait to get busy knitting. Knitting Green

I purchased this book for my sock library, but it offers many more garment choices. Good resource for your library.
