Well, it's a cone that kills...
First off, if you're a PETA person, get off this page. You can't handle the reality of actual life. Otherwise, read on. We bought this cone to cull a beta male rooster. He was a black Australorp named Broiler. :) The sizing of this cone worked. Biggest complaint is that the metal edge is sharp, so beware when you have to reach your hand up in there to pull the head and neck down. But it enabled my husband to dispatch Broiler quickly and efficiently and keep him contained so we didn't have a murder scene all over our property. The cone isn't big enough for a turkey or some really big breeds (and bantams would be too small, methinks), but it worked just fine for our purpose.

Works great
We used this cone for some young roosters and it worked just fine. Would be great for any standard sized chicken.

Great product but definitely be aware of sizes!!!
This was great quality and exactly what I expected with the only issue being that I purchased the medium and my 5-7 lbs broilers barely fit in there. Also need to have a washer or something else to secure, as the whole is far to large for a standard screw or nailhead. Despite these issues, I am very happy with purchase and seller was great!

Good
We really likes these cones. However, the raw edges were really sharp and had to be covered with duct tape before we could use them. They were ok for birds up to 7# but the birds 7+ # were a bit harder to fit into it. If you plan on going the full 9-10 weeks for Cornish cross, I recommend the bigger cone.

Size is subjective
After reading many reviews on several of these cones I decided to order the medium for processing my cornish cross meat birds. I processed them at 8 weeks after being on 21% for 6 weeks. Dressed weight these birds ranged from a little over 4 lbs to almost 7 lbs. For the very smallest birds this medium cone worked well enough. For anything other than the smallest, the cone is too small. Getting the bird in the cone is a pretty good chore considering how large the bird is compared to the cone. With the larger birds their head and neck do not come out the bottom. I had to reach up inside the cone to pull the head down far enough to make a clean cut. This really stresses out the birds when pulling on their necks. For cornish cross meat birds I would recommend the large cone at the very least. I read many reviews stating the birds appear to fall through some of the different sized cones. I am fairly certain the largest bird you could get through this medium cone would be a Dove or a Quail. The opening at the bottom is smaller than a mans fist.

Works
Fits standard sized poultry well. Was able to easily process Rhode Island Red hen and rooster.
