A Great Children's Book and Momento for Me
This illustrated children's book has an insightful meaning behind it. The author recently passed away 😢, and was a high school and colleague of mine. He will be missed, but left a legacy of literature. This was his last! It's a great read I will treasure!

Good Read and Positive Imagery!
My 4 YO enjoys this book he has me read this to him at least 3 times a week randomly or at bed time!! Plus it’s good for him to imagery that depicts boys like him in a positive light!

Good Read
We do not have a large number of books for the grandfathers so I really love this one.

Beautiful story with wonderful pictures
Beautiful story with beautiful pictures. I cried a little the first time as it implies at a grandfather’s frailty and that he may not always be there (but the moon will), but that theme was way over my 4 year old’s head. He just loves the story and the idea of the moon following him everywhere.

My son fell in love with this book.
I bought this book especially for my son. He fell in love with the story of Max and the moon. We'll cuddle up to this book again and again. I'm glad I got it.

Very simple, but sweet.
Simple and sweet. Beautiful and serene illustrations. Calm book, which sets the tone for bed time.I bought this book specifically to help my toddler son, who has many questions about where his deceased grandfather is. I was hoping, whilst it doesn't explicitly deal with loss, it would allow him to see, through Max's relationship with his grandfather, that his grandfather was always there with him, like the moon is always there. I don't think it quite resonated in that way, but it's a lovely story none the less. The flow of the prose can sometimes feel a little disjointed and makes it harder to get into a comfortable reading stride. However, the overall simplicity of the story and beautiful illustrations makeup for it. Finally, and very important in our household - having a protagonist who is black also elevates it for me, the more representation of the world we live in, on our bookshelf, the better!
