This is an excellent alternative to the Original Vidalia Chop Wizard, it's exactly the same except it has no manufacturer name on it and its $6.00 cheaper. We have gone thru so many Vidalia Chop Wizard's not that they are bad but we just wear them out. We decided to try this model to save a few dollars, and it was the right decision. It has the same issues as the original when it comes to durability and cleaning. Cleaning it takes time because food gets stuck in the blades and the cover, the bottom container will eventually crack or break around the feet. But these model choppers we think are the best on the market. Its hard to find the right size dicer blade for onions and tomatoes, this included the smaller slicer which is great for onions and tomatoes, The larger slicer will get tossed because we have no use for it.....We ordered 6 of these so we won't need to order anymore anytime soon.

When making pico degallo or any other form of salsa--a vegetable chopper is invaluable. I have another model which I use regularly but I lost the onion chopper attachment. Not being able to replace the attachment, I bought this instead. Using it however, the lid sticks once you push it down of the onion or tomato and is difficult to pull it back up. Too cheap to bother with return. Just went into the dumpster.

An item that cuts onions (& gets smelly) should be dishwasher safe but this is not! The plastic non-skid bumpers on bottom feet deteriorated when put in dishwasher and have all fallen off and the plastic base has warped, bowing out on the sides and cutting grid does not fit now. Putting pressure on it as needed to chop an onion pushes the green top into base. A waste of money.

First time I used this product the metal grate came apart in my food 😳🤬 (pictures posted). I previously purchased a similar product- looked the same but had “Vidalia Chop Wizard” on the top and it last for years- I dropped it and broke the plastic base, so I am now using that insert in this base 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ But would highly recommend NOT buying this specific one. Zero ⭐️‘S 100 %💩

The product is clearly a generic alternative and not as good as the Prgressv brand one (I have used 3 of these). The bladed grid is one cell smaller than the other brand and the plastic teeth that push food through have been shaved by the blades 2//100 uses putting a few small plastic curls in the chopped onion. The lid definately sticks to the cutting insert when closed after chopping. The base is hard clear plastic which is excellent. The painted volume marks are laughingly incorrect (clearly implausible). The two bladed inserts are nice. I would not attempt doing a large potato in the wider blade but 2cm thick slices will be diced. I keep 'hard' vegetable slices (onion) down to 1cm thickness for the smaller blade insert.Don't clean the pushing teeth until you are done chopping as the remnants help push the current slices through the blades. Simply rinsing then tapping the lid teeth down several times will work better and easier than using the comb.This home use unit is far cheaper than restaurant models ($99-$580) that are all stainless steel.

First, you need to know, these are NOT easy to clean but, they ARE worth the trouble for the ease of chopping! I love mine & bought one each, for my cousin & aunt who are huge fans of my Cowboy Caviar: 6 huge garden fresh tomatoes, 2 green bell peppers, 2 red bell peppers, 6-8 jalapeño peppers, 6 minced garlic cloves, 2 bunches green onions, 1 bunch cilantro, 1 large sweet onion, 2 cans black beans - rinsed & drained, 2 cans Green Giant white shoepeg corn,2 teaspoons salt, 1 heaping teaspoon coarse ground black pepper, cumin to taste, 2-3 bottles Ortega taco sauce (mild, medium, or hot-whatever you prefer). I seed all the peppers. Use gloves to seed jalapeños. Stir all together & chill 2 hours or more before serving with tortilla chips or celery. Everyone LOVES it!USE THIS CHOPPER with the small squares blades for this recipe!***also, I highly recommend the herb scissors to shred the cilantro (and all fresh herbs)!

I’ve owned several of these type of choppers over the years. This is by far the worst. I use mine a lot, but this one isn’t sturdy at all, can barely chop a 1/4 of a onion and completely broke free the third use. Do not buy. The best one I’ve had came from target so I’m going back there to get it again
