Etekcity EMT100 Digital Instant Read Meat Thermometer, 5"Long Probe, Black

I have tested this thermometer and it is accurate within reason. I compared it with other digital thermometer that I have and it comes in within a degree. Good enough for cooking. The use is not quite as intuitive as I would like. For example to turn it on you need to hold button for a few seconds. I could not find this in the manual. To turn it off you should do the same. Display is large enough and easy to read. Backlight is bright, not sure if it is needed, as I managed without it before. It is not like one is cooking in the dark. I like that this is not a foldable kind as I would question reliability of these contacts.One thing I wish it would have is an ability to calibrate it using boiling water. But for the price it is a good thermometer.

Gave this as a gift for a beginner cook and he loves it and says has improved his food enormously as he doesn’t overcook his meat anymore

I somehow made it more than two decades of my life never using a meat thermometer. No idea why, but moving into a new apartment with an unfamiliar oven I figured I'd better buy one (I bought it in a bundle with a digital scale). I think I assumed they'd be more work than they are - but this one's easy! I've used it exclusively for baking raw chicken from frozen. Literally you just stick it in and then it tells you what the temperature is. Easy peasy.No trouble to wash but I just use soapy water on the end that touched food only; I can't imagine you'd want to get the digital read part wet.

It works really well, my only gripe is that it is really easy to misplace! Lol!! I am already ordering another because I lost the first one!! Lol hahaha! Lol!

Didn't last. Broke after using a few times.I do NOT recommend.

This product ceased to work within a few months. We were careful to use it according to the instructions. Not worth the time and money to replace it or get a refund.
