Garden Weasel Oversized Potting Scoop for Soil Digging Planting Gardening

This potting scoop exceeded my expectations! It is nothing fancy to look at, but boy is it it sturdy and comfortable to use. I used it to dig out holes for trees and everyone on my family called it "The Spoon" but it did fabulous detail work with the rough front edge and the Xtra large scooping ability. Those tree holes were primo work. I call t the "Unicorn" Thanks Garden Weasel! BTW my hand did not even hurt the day after, amazing!

This garden trowel is wonderful! This is a very large serrated trowel which is amazing for shoveling potting soil in containers and planters. It is built to withstand a lot of use and has a very comfortable grip handle. Will not disappoint. Definitely worth every penny.

Favorite beater trowel of all time. Hard clay, rocky soil, no problem. Cuts roots pretty good. Aluminum, so it does wear down over time, but seems basically unbreakable. Large/long enough to get some actual work done, unlike most other trowels. Not sold on the big ridge/hook on the back. Totally unnecessary and just gets in the way. Whenever I get a new one, I cut most of the ridge off with a grinder. Big improvement in useability and doesn't seem to weaken it structurally.

This is the best scooper I have ever used! The core strength of the handle and shaft alone is worth it cost! It isn't tippy or tilted it doesn't feel overly extended or heavy as you scoop or try to control. It comes a little rough from the molding I have files and the ability to sharpen it up a little bit in the front where the teeth are which makes all the difference in the world..... All this being said . do not stick this in the ground and attempt to pry up hard soil ,the thing will snap just as any of them will snap. it it's meant to scoop and to trench . the handle is made so that you can hold it in a "stab" like fashion - straight at the ground and chisel in . as long as you're not trying to pry the soil out you should be just fine. I beat the heck out of this thing and it takes it.... It's a great toolgreat and if it ever dies I'm gonna buy another one.

This is a valuable find and I am very happy with the purchase over the cheap HD or Lowes offerings. I have used the sharp edges to cut roots in holes for plantings and transplanting sod over three days. Easy to clear weeds below the surface. Very useful, great grip, solid material, and heavy. Some have commented about the funky alumairon finish thingy and how it corrodes. True, I saw some start when I put the tool down dirty overnight. I believe there is a galvanic reaction with the soil that disturbs the finish. They GW, are out front saying to wash them off with water. It appears to shed dirt quickly. Could be a flaw that will appear for me later. Silly to have a finish that reacts to dirt in a tool designed for use in the dirt, but I can overlook this unless it starts to melt.

Good size for digging. Not too big to create too much of a burden on the hand and arm. And not too small to be inefficient in moving and digging dirt. The build quality is solid, and this thing can take quite a bit of abuse. The front side has relatively sharp teeth to help break the ground. All in all, I am pleased with this scoop. I take one point out as it does not have a leather strap at the end of the handle part for easy hanging
