This light brightens up the room so much for me. Exactly what I was looking for. The light is still soft because if the shade and the way it disperses, not harsh or too bright. But bright enough that I can read, do Skype, organize my shelves, and anything else needed. The assembly instructions were easy to follow and well drawn. Putting together the parts was a little tricky, especially the shade, but I figured it out. It may help if you have a second person to help. The wood base adds a lot of sturdiness to the light. Since the light is made with thin metal rods screwed together it can be a little wobbly when you're putting it together, but once it's standing it's sturdy enough. I'm especially happy to have gotten this level of quality and functionality for the price.In regards to the light bulbs, they are small LEDs. I'm my picture the bottom two lights are the ones that came with the lamp. The top one is a lightbulb of my own (60w daylight). My own light bulb is a lot brighter than the ones that came with the lamp. So if you want a brighter lamp just switch out for higher wattage bulbs and that should do the trick.

The construction is good. Instructions and assembly were easy.The copper/gold color rim at the top and bottom is a horrid color but can easily be fixed with some plastic paint. The fabric and backing is well made. It's not made of paper like other lamps.I purchased 3 color LED smart bulbs to go inside. I know they have another version of this that's more expensive and has color bulbs but I wanted a brand that was already within my smart home ecosystem. I intentionally bought the gray version so it wouldn't be as bright. I use this as a fun (substantially sized) accent light in a room for gaming. I have a motion sensor that triggers each of the bulbs to pick a random color. It provides a really cool effect that's not distracting. With the lights on a white setting, it provides ample light in the room.I already purchased another lamp and 3 more bulbs to go on the other side of the room. The value is OK. I would've rather them kept their led bulbs and knocked a couple bucks off the price but overall I'm very pleased with this unique lamp.

Not too long ago I ordered a set of table lamps that have a similar style from a Big Box Home Improvement Store and REALLY love how they look in my office. When I was looking for a tall floor lamp to compliment the table lamps I purchased, I came across this beauty and was really excited on getting one to keep that style of lamps flowing from table to floor. Furthermore, using the Philips Hue lights in my opinion would work nicely here and add a unique look within my office.Now for the review.This lamp is a beautiful lamp that when fully assembled, feels like it is well built. HOWEVER, there are a few design flaws I have noticed that I was able to fix one of them very easily. The first thing I noticed was the instructions that came with the lamp was not very clear and through trial and error, I was able to assemble the lamp through common sense. Another flaw I noticed was during the assembly process, the power cable that runs up the support rod hangs loosely, I needed to zip tie the loose wiring to the rod to cable manage the power cable better. The other flaw I noticed is with the shade. The idea of the shade being rolled up for packaging purpose is just fine. But if I was the one packaging this, I would have rolled the shade up length wise instead of width wise. Through its natural memory properties, it would have made it easier to assemble the shade vs. fighting the shade to conform to the shape needed.On the positive side of things with this lamp, it is awesome that this lamp is packaged with LED light bulbs so it can be used right away once the assembly is completed. I opted to use the Philips Hue 800 lumen, color and white ambiance bulbs to be able to get the gradients I wanted in a tall light fixture like this. The picture shows what one of these lights would look like with those types of bulbs in color fashion. Another positive feature this lamp has is the long power cable. I am less likely to use an extension cable in the area where I have this light and having a foot switch to turn on or off the light with outlets that are not on a wall switch.The Recap.This is overall a great lamp that has the minimalist style and having three sockets for the light bulbs, this lamp can be a lamp used as a primary source of light or in my case using Hue bulbs to be an accent piece. Construction is for the most part durable, but assembly can be tricky if you are not patient. Would I recommend this lamp to others? The answer would be yes.
