Amazon Basics Enameled Cast Iron Covered Round Dutch Oven, 6-Quart, Teal

This is my favorite cookware item. Best purchase in a long time. I love it for rice, beans and and for curries mostly, which I make almost daily in some variety. I truly don't know how I got on without it for so long. Even my other seasoned lodge cast iron dutch over just isn't the same. I think it's the combination of the ceramic coating and the type of lid. Not sure but I love it.Cons - it's honestly not always the easiest to clean but there are techniques for that. You do have to be mindful not to scratch it or chip it, but that comes with the territory. Still worth it.How I treat stubborn food and stains: Just add a little soapy water while it's hot and wash it before it gets too crusty. Let stains or stuck food sit with some vinegar in the water and I'll put a couple drops of dawn in anything... it will loosen up and you can wipe it after a while. Worst case put a teensy of baking soda in the solution when it's time to wash. Some be concerned that will scratch it, so be cautious or avoid.

At first I was unhappy because it started rusting almost immediatly. The lip of the lid- where it touches the top of the pot and the top of the pot where the lid rests; are not enamaled. These rust. So, I treated them like a cast iron frying pan. I took a Q-Tip and applyed bacon grease to each part. I then heated up the oven and placed them In it. The grease will run, a little, so make sure that there's something under them, in the oven. After every few uses I'll take a Q-Tip and apply a little bacon grease on those edges. Don't forget to always wear oven mits with this, just like using a cast iron frying pan.

I have now purchased four of these. Don't worry- they last FOREVER. I have one in my kitchen, one in our hunting lodge where I cook often, and I bought one for my mom and one for my mother-in-law. I have gas range-tops, and the heat distribution is impeccable on these pots. I cook EVERYTHING in here. It is so versatile, because you can sear your meat on the stove-top, develop your sauce, put the meat back and it goes right into the oven. I literally use this pot every day. It seems like it would be hard to clean, but it's not at all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Do not waste money buying more expensive versions. The Amazon brand is perfect.

The pan weight and heat distribution are perfect. I made an Irish Soda Bread and the crust is lovely. I have spent $100's of dollars on LeCrueset in the past and I have buyer's remorse for a lot of reasons. I think this pan is amazing at a fraction of the price. Also, the green gradient color is nice, I love it.

THese are great and attractive. Soups,stews and amazing crispy dutch oven bread. Looks nice on my open shelving. I use this all the time and sent my kid off to her first apartment with one. It's heavy - could absolutely double as a self defense item. I never had, and likely never will, have a le cruset but can't imagine it being much better than this.

The price can not be beat compared to the higher end companies that make them. The quality is amazing and overall great product. I do not put this item away in a cabinet...It stays out on my stove as a decorative item when I am not using it because it is that great!

This is a great alternative to those ludicrous priced ones, and yes I've owned those. I ended up giving them away because I can't stand when I can't get a pot clean, and they were so hard to clean. However, over the years I found myself needing a dutch oven every so often and I was certainly not spending hundreds of dollars. I figured I'd give this a try. For 30 something dollars, yes please! I've made bread in it, braised short ribs, and have made plenty of soup stock. Works exactly like the $300 ones, and it also is not the best to get clean like those. But for hundreds less, I'm very happy with it. The best part is, when it gets to the point where I can't get it clean enough to where I want it, it's affordable enough to replace it with a new one.

I absolutely love everything about this new Dutch oven! The first thing I made in it was my family’s favorite Sheppard’s Pie, it was plenty big for it and a gorgeous way to serve it. I LOVE everything about this Dutch oven! I was hesitant in having to replace my previous one by ordering it on line but I actually like this one even better! The color is gorgeous, prettier then expected! So attractive I leave it out on top of my stove! I may even order one for my daughter!

Nice blue coloured enamel cast iron pot! Great quality and weight. Cooks evenly and retains heat very well. Doesn’t scratch my smooth cook top and it’s easy to clean even after cooking tomato based foods. Perfect price point compared to brand names.

While the product is beautiful, it does not serve the purpose for which I bought it...which is for baking sourdough bread. It does not seem to keep steam in effectively.. steam escapes from through the sides of the heavy lid.. good for cooking though.Looks exactly like a lodge DO

Seems to be as good as Le Creuset and a fraction of the price. I've been using it as a Dutch Oven to bake bread - but it would be equally good as a casserole dish. Love the colour too.
