Float is absorbing water
We tested this with a view to using several of them.Electrically there are 8 internal levels. Resistance steps are sensible and we got a nice graph of resistance versus distance moved. There is about 10mm of hysteresis to prevent flickering readings. We then tested for compatibility with water. The gasket isn't too bad but the float is not really compatible. it is absorbing water and increasing in weight. Already +5.2% after 7 days. We gave up.

Easy to fit, works well
Easy to fit, will drop in as a replacement for similar units

Really good item
I've seen reviews stating that this sender only shows 4 positions on a gauge, I've installed mine in a boat water tank using a KUS gauge and it drops as the water drops, even in-between F - 3/4 - 1/2 etc......Easily wired and simple to install.

Works great with Simarine Pico
I bought these to use with a Simarine Pico monitoring system for my camper van. They work great and give a really accurate reading of my water tank levels.

Not exactly a variable sensor!
If you want something to operate an analogue gauge, look elsewhere. If you're operating a 4 bar graphic display or something with a huge amount of damping you'll possibly be fine - it will only tell you empty, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full. 5 switch points of 0, 51, 90, 130 and 190 Ohms. Nothing inbetween. Will suffice for my application but might not for others..

450mm Fits Fiamma 70L tank for Campervan
So far so good. Was worried about the length and how close it would fit the Fiamma 70L blue tank but if the tank is lying on it's side vertically it fits perfectly. The tank is about 470mm in width so 450mm is as close as you can get without the probe not fitting or being too short.Warning. do not use the gasket as a template for drilling holes. nearly did this and found the gasket doesn't quite fit the holes in top of the sender but rather it needs to stretch a little when putting the screws in. Once the hole is drilled(35mm hole saw fits perfectly to allow the float to fit through) use the actual sender's screw holes to mark locations to drill. With the Fiamma 70L tank the walls are quite thin so the bolts supplied with this kit are useless for screwing into such thin plastic. I managed to find some stainless M5 nuts from ScrewFix which fitted perfectly from the inside to give the bolts some tightening power. I used Dowsil 786 Food Safe silicon to seal the top and bottom of gasket as it leaked slightly when installing without. The Fiamma tank is not 100% straight and has a mild texture to it on the outside.Water level sensor used is a "KAOLALI Water Level Indicator" 450mm, also from Amazon. seems to work great so far. Some reviewers mention this meter/the sender combo only has 3 or 5 positions but i've found it seems to be close to the actual level, and besides, who looks at a water level guage in that kind of detail. On the instructions with this kit it is pretty easy to marry up with the level guage. It takes a negative from battery source, and connects to the level guage (brown to blue in my case for 190ohm).

Nicely made - Ive installed the sender which seems nicely made
This seems well made it was quite easy to install. I installed this in a polythene water tank making the hole with a hole saw. The float is 35mm dia for my model which was the 350mm. I cut a very slightly smaller hole and filed it out. The sender doesn't sit centrally but I found a locator on Thingiverse which helps to locate the sender in the centre of the hole for fitting. This item makes fitting the sender a doddle. I used M5 stainless self tappers. The M5 machine screws that come with the unit dint work for me. It would be useful if the unit also came with an internal washer and ring with captive nuts for the m5 machine screws. I haven't yet tested the watertightness.
