Aircast AirSelect Walker Brace/Walking Boot (Elite, Short and Standard)

First off the air cast walking boots are an excellent product. I used an air cast walking boot about 25 years ago for a grade 2 tear of my right Achilles tendon. I recently had an injury to my left ankle ( torn peroneal tendon and a fracture ) the cam boot given at the Dr office was good. But once I knew the extent of the injury I decided that due to the good experience I had with air cast years ago to get another one for this injury. Alother the design had changed some the air cast elite is the best boot. It provided almost full immobilization and the comfort level of the elite is beyond words with the 3 air cells it's even better then the original that only had 2. These are very well made and are the closet boots to an actual cast. Over all I'm very well pleased and would recommend this to anyone requiring a walking boot. Would definitely buy again. The comfort level between the soft cam walker boot and the air cast elite is the like night and day.

Outstanding stability and support. I was given another brand (Advantage) initially by my doctor and the shorter one is more comfortable and great on flat surfaces or in the car. This tall AirCast allows me to walk much better on uneven surfaces like our back yard and paths in the woods.

Identical product/brand as Ortho at 1/4 cost of insurance. Product is top quality. Only suggestion, make an available insert for high arch, medium arch, low arch & what you have flat foot. Without arch support insert, product actually caused more pain after 2wks Ortho had me stop using. Would certainly refer all to this product for foot/ankle injuries.

First thing I'm leaving a review on Elite style of boot. On this page you can select other styles of boots. My height is 6'9" so I'm just as proportional with my size 15 foot. My doctor supplied a big metal boot very heavy awkward and poor fitting. So after emailing this boots manufacturer and finding out that their XL size will fit me just fine. Went ahead and bought it through here and the dealer Hawkeye Medical Supply they are a great dealer but just be sure you leave a physical mailing address. At first this boot seamed large on my small calf muscle, tightening the straps down as much as possible, but still having a gap. But after a day the plastic has conformed to my leg shape and is no longer a issue. I have noticed a lot of pictures of people who have this boot put the straps through as D-rings, they are not D-rings but buckles look at the way the manufacturer has it, I think it holds the straps better in a way so that they won't loosen. This boot is so much more comfortable than which I had. And with the Elite boot having the built in pump as well as the 3 separate airchambers and 1 preinflated chamber in the tongue. It's very easy to adjust the air pressure throughout the day. Siting down release some pressure, when you need to walk pump it back up. It's your choice and you don't have to carry a pump around. I fractured my calcaneus (heel) and had surgery to repair the damage consisting of a plate and 8 screws. I think I'm the only one here who is leaving a review on this boot with this type of injury. I know now that I made a right choice with this purchase, without any doubt. But we all have our own injures don't just take my word about it. Ask your doctor too. Do go with the cost of the more expensive AirSelect Elite it well worth it.

When I fractured my foot, this worked better than that general air cast that the hospital gave me.

Two months ago I broke my leg when I fell 30 feet off of a cliff in northern Tohoku Japan. I broke my leg in six places, my ankle in two, as well as three bones in my foot. After an extensive surgery I was placed in a cast for two weeks. Unfortunately, because of the small nature of Japanese people, they didn't have any kind of brace after the initial cast was removed. I ordered this instead and paid as much in shipping as I did for the cast itself. It was worth every penny! Four weeks following the accident and surgery I was partially weight bearing and it would have been impossible to even try and walk (with crutches) without this. If you've suffered a foot or leg break, this is excellent for the healing process while still allowing for mobility. The ability to inflate it for extra stabilization is immensely helpful and aids me in reducing swelling and pain too.

Boot arrived quickly! Husband broke his ankle and Dr recommended this boot. It is incredibly sturdy but not real heavy. Keeps ankle stable.
