Fantastic ! Easy setup , remote access , PoE
When you unbox the NVR you need to connect an HDMI/monitor directly to get the box onto your network. Once this is complete, you can disconnect the HDMI and do everything over the LAN with the inbuilt web page. At this stage I moved the NVR into a discrete location. Using the web page you can maintain things/config, Add/remove cameras (you only need to physically get to the box if you are plugging a new PoE camera) adding a LAN IP camera doesnt require physical access to the NVR. You can also configure motion control masks, alter the default layout, look at the event logs and much much more. This is an excellent NVR. I have a few IP cameras which i was using and had them connected to the NVR over the network (i.e not plugged in the PoE in the rear). Everything was working perfectly, although i found when there was motion in some overlapping areas covered by the camera my network must have got flooded and footage might be jerky. This was NOT the fault of the NVR but my slow network being flood with traffic, so I decided to buy more and connect all the cameras to the rear PoE ports. Now each camera is powered from the NVR and doesnt effect my LAN network traffic making each camera very smooth . Installation is very easy, only one wire, the network. You can view all or any combination of cameras in a brower, or on a desktop app (mac or windows) and also remotely with an app on your phone (see photos). The app also sends notifications like any other apps if you have motion detection set up etc . I have had this installed about 3 weeks now and its working perfectly. If you have any issues be sure to contact the H.View support, they are EXCELLENT, very prompt to answer and assist with any configurations etc. This is my first NVR so i had a few questions. I bought a 10TB HDD, you can configure constant recording plus motion detection video and snapshots. I have some screens and raspberry Pi's which grab snap shots every second from the cameras too via the NVR which work brilliantly, for instant viewing of the front door etc . I also have non H.View cameras connected to this NVR. I totally recommend this NVR.

1 System for all
I have a load of IP cameras that are all different brands, after searching for a way to bring them all together, this was the solution i went with. I've bought a few which state they are up to the task but as of yet, i haven't found one that worked, until now.I already had the cameras set up and running individually on different apps, but bringing them all together on this means that i now only have the one app. The menus with this NVR are not the simplest, but it's not the most complex either, with a bit of messing, I got everything working. Most menus do exactly what you would expect them to do, and sound was enabled by default which was a nice touch. On some cameras different setting may need to be changed direct from the camera setup page, but most can be changed through the NVR.The App is really easy to use and very intuitive on Android (not tried on iPhone)Overall it's sorted out a large mess of different cameras and bought it back into 1 useable system.
