On its own they're light but they are sturdy, very portable given their size too each coming with a pack of those dry beads.Sure you could say the more storage the better so get a way bigger box but you have to consider how much the whole thing will weigh once you've filled the box to its maximum, you can store a fair amount of LP in these boxes but they do come out pretty heavy once you've maxed it out so these boxes are great countermeasures for the case of having too much LP in one storage unit making it impossible to carry.I do actually own 4 of these boxes (2 black 2 silver) from the sheer capacity of LP I own and I am not spraining myself moving them as there is only so much limited but fair amount of space for them.
