Good quality tool.
I am a retired BMW dealership technician, and used to buying high quality tools. This tool is very well made and works perfectly with seamless copper crimp splices. If you have to crimp splices or connectors that are open, order a tool for that type of connector. This is designed for the solid rather then U-shaped connectors.

Works good on crimping
No moving parts and I think it will last a long time. It works great. On my number six grounding wires. The numbering system could be geared to North America by putting number six on the tool and not the metric system.

The best crimp tool I have EVER used
I wish I was exaggerating but I am not. This thing is the best crimper I have ever used for trolling motor wiring. Almost all 8 gauge wire. Whether it’s butt connectors, ring terminals, whatever it may be. This thing makes such a good crimp I have tried to yank the wire out of the connector and I can’t do it. Worth every penny and if I knew how good it was I’d pay double. EXCELLENT

Great crimper, if you use it properly
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate having all of the different sizes in one tool. I’m a wiring guy for the public utilities and this is great…. As long as you don’t let someone borrow it. Gave it to a coworker to use on a larger crimp and he messed up the ratchet on the first go. Granted I didn’t think it was that difficult of a concept but apparently old rammer jammer didn’t know how to use it so he broke it with brute force. This tool ratchets in the sense that it locks the jaws as you go. NOT in that you crank it half way and pull it apart to crank on it again. This is how he destroyed the ratchet on mine. Now it doesn’t stay closed when it’s in my tool bag. It still crimps. But now it gets caught on everything. You must fully crimp the lug to release it or put tension on the handle so that you can hit the manual release lever. Bought a replacement and haven’t had any issues with it.I wish the jaws had the American standard gauge on it but I just labeled mine for ease of use
