This is the original part for Briggs and Stratton. Works much better than the knock offs claiming their just like the manufacturers recommend.

WORKS JUST FINE

Easy fix for 7kW generator. Trying to start it. I would just hear a click. Would not even try to turnover.Followed troubleshooting steps. Found low voltage at starter contactor.Replaced solenoid in less than 15 minutes. Now generator starts. All good.

I have it for several months and I have not had any problem with it. Previously, I had the same brand and model installed in my electric generator, which lasted several years of use, I was satisfied, so I bought the same brand and model.

Usually I shop around for parts, and I do find a generic part that is a direct replacement for the original, and the generic parts typically work just fine, if not better than the original. This B&S Starter Solenoid is an original replacement part form the manufacturer, and I purchased it to get it quickly, and I didn't have the time to research alternate parts.Bottom line is you'll be able to find an alternate replacement Solenoid for almost half the price of the B&S original. One alternate has a universal mounting bracket. It's OK to save a little money...
