I needed to install a security lock on my patio doors and frankly, my normal steel bits just skittered off this stuff. I did a bit of research and learned cobalt drill bits were the way to go and Drill Hog USA was one of the best. I bought a small set and couldn't be more pleased. They have a lifetime replacement warranty--I doubt I'll ever need it, but heavy construction guys might find it a real benefit.

As a blacksmith and knife maker I am always burning through drill bits drilling holes through the tangs of my blades. I took a shot on these because they were made in the USA and the price was right. I am extremely happy with the quality of this product. Add to that the lifetime guarantee against dullness and breaks and I will definitely be buying more of their products in the future!

Was really excited to use these. Drilling into a steel bar. Smaller bits dulled and broke. I went back to the big box store lower end bits to finish the job. I know these have a lifetime warranty, but not sure it is worth the time or postage to address. The larger bits worked well, but the smaller bits, not as well as the big box hardware store varieties.

I needed these drill bits to get through a thicker metal frame on a project I was building. They easily cut through this material. One on the bits broke during The process so I sent it back and received a replacement in very short order with no questions asked. I am very satisfied with these bits and would buy them again if needed.

i have been trying to extract a class 10.9 stainless steel bolt that snapped of into an engine block, and my cheap drill bits couldn't even scratch it. i used some of my Drill Hog bits from the set i just got, and they cut through the bolt so well that the metal chips came out in two long strings as i cut. dipped in a bit of used motor oil i, the bit got through 1 inch of 10.5 steel in about 1 minute of drilling.definitely reccomend.

Short and sweet - these bits are hard and sharp, and they stay sharp for a good long while if you don't abuse them. M42 is brittle, which is the tradeoff you're making for the hardness of the cutting edge. Be very careful to not put axial loads on the bit while drilling, and take it slow. If you overheat the tip, you've buggered it. Treat them right, and they will power through seemingly impossible tasks with no fuss. I recently completed a job that required drilling dozens of holes through the 1/4-inch bottom flange of a steel I-beam. The bit cut out long curly chips with no chattering or chirping from the first hole to the last.

I have purchased plenty of drills from Drill Hog, even this same M42 set, and never had an issue. But this last set the first two bits i used immediately failed to cut and burnt out on a piece of unhardened steel. 1/4” bit at 1000rpm with oil. Edges all gone. An older set of almost identical M42 bits picked up and drilled happily through the same partial hole

These drill bits are awesome! Their sizes are clearly marked in the case (case is metal) and bits are extremely sharp. They cut thru my metal carport support with ease without trying to travel off center. I used a power driver on slow for metal and kept adding 3-in-1 oil to keep the drill bit from seizing. I can recommend these bits for home use! Love Them!
