Good Little Unit - Great Value for the Price
OVERVIEW: This is a medium-sized food processor. I've owned smaller ones (2-cup, whereas this one is 3-1/2) and most of them didn't work well. I like the size of this one. The "small batch" retainer baffle is brilliant. I was able to finely chop parsley stems and use them as an ingredient instead of throwing those stems away. (Pro tip: don't toss flavor in the trash or down the drain. For example, deglaze any pan that has collected stuck brown residue, that's concentrated flavor!)I bought it to make salsa and hummus. It looks like a perfect small-batch appliance.WHIPPING: The whipping tool looks like it will do an adequate job. The key is to be very vigilant with the cream because it will turn from whipped cream into butter RAPIDLY once the cream starts to set. I've whipped cream by hand and it's worth learning how to make a machine do it.I suspect that the whipping tool will make fluffy omelettes like Waffle House used to make using a milkshake blender. Come to think of it, the whipping tool will probably make a great milkshake, too.SPEED CONTROL: I think I would rather have two speeds instead of the Forward/Reverse motor control. I suppose that the Reverse direction lets you stir or whip rather than cutting and liquefying, but I think I'd rather have a fast speed that produces a purée faster and a slow speed that chops less aggressively so that there's time to shift the food around and get a more consistent chop. Perhaps the key to uniformity is to reverse the blades now and then. I tried Reverse once and it just threw the contents up onto the top of the sides and lid. The food did slide back down, so this may be a way to "toss" the contents a bit. More experimentation is clearly needed. The lack of a steady-on switch is probably a benefit. Very few things need to be puréed or liquified and you'll ruin the consistency of what you're making far too often if you can walk away from the unit and leave it running. The proper tool for puréeing and liquifying is a blender. Food processors are more for chopping and mincing.MAYONNAISE, ETC. The lid is plastic, so drill a small hole big enough to place a small funnel in or insert the tip of a squeeze bottle into. Locate the hole near the center of the lid--not at the outer edge--and the contents will be much less likely to splatter out. You can even find a stopper and drill the hole to tightly match the stopper.SAFETY SWITCH: The reports of inoperable units are probably inaccurate. The safety switch IS touchy but you have to assemble the lid and bowl with the safety tabs lined up together AND place the bowl onto the power base with the safety tabs in front of the slot where the switch is. At least one video of a supposedly defective unit clearly shows the safety tab sitting at the 3 o'clock position rather than the 12 o'clock position. Whenever the unit hasn't turned on, I've been able to rotate the bowl so that the safety tab re-engages and the unit runs. Sometimes I have to put the tab just inside of the slot and not rotate it in fully, as far as it will go. This is a minor inconvenience, at most.LEAKING: The leaks reported are the same that any food processor will have when overfilled. Remove the blade and look at the vertical "tube" that the drive shaft sticks into. This tube must be open on both ends so the drive shaft can connect to the blade. Yes, a seal COULD be added to reduce the leaking (but would probably not stop it altogether) and that seal would be harder to clean than the smooth inner wall of the blade and smooth outer wall of the tube in the pitcher/bowl.FINAL EVALUATION: Good value, as long as the motor holds up. I'm buying a second one for the galley in my boat. I expect to use this unit frequently and should know in a few months if it's going to burn out prematurely. UPDATE: Still going strong in August 2023.HUMMUS: I can't wait to make some hummus with it. A can of garbanzos along with the liquid from the can plus some olive oil, onion, garlic, and spices or other ingredients of your choice, like black olive or red pepper, can all be thrown together for a quick, delicious snack. (Purée the beans with a little liquid before adding the rest of the ingredients. Add red pepper or other such ingredients last to just chop it into chunks rather than blending it in fully.)NOTE: The product specs say this is a 300 Watt, 240 Volt unit. The FP-530 is actually 200W, 120V.

Great Customer Service and Care- REDO on initial review
EDIT: I initially gave this product 1 star due to it only working the first time I received it and not after that, trying a few times. I posted my review of my disappointment. The seller contacted me directly and offered to send me a replacement as they care very much about their customer's satisfaction. I really appreciate the effort and reaching out to me to replace the none working item for me at no cost and I don't have to send back the none working one. For that, 5 stars. Thank you very much!!! Stuff happens and malfunctions, it is the integrity of making something right that makes a great business person. AND The replacement works great!!!!

Waste of money- this food processor does not work!
I made the mistake of not reading/ checking the reviews before purchasing it. I made the purchase back in July, and didn’t really have the need to use the food processor. I only purchased it, because it was on sale. Yesterday, I was hosting some friends over and had to prepare some food that required the use of the food processor. I pulled it out of the box, and quickly assembled it and plugged it in. The food processor does not turn on. At first, I thought that I had assembled it incorrectly. Today, I checked the manual, but it did not have good instructions. Therefore, I went to YouTube to try to figure out how to assemble it. With no luck on finding a video, I came to Amazon to see if there was any videos associated to the product. Then after digging and reading through some of the reviews, I noticed that I had correctly assembled it, and that the product just does not work. Some reviewers mentioned that they had their items replaced. Unfortunately for me, I can’t return it since it past the return window, so now I am stuck with a product that is damage and for which I can’t get my money back. So unless you want to waste your time and money, don’t buy this food processor.

Good for small amounts, loud motor
Still works after two years. Works well for hummus, pesto, making breadcrumbs, crushing graham crackers for a pie crust. It cleans up well, only three small pieces that you can toss straight in the dishwasher. If you want to chop veggies for a Mirepoix/etc you'll have to do them one at a time. Filling more than 1/3 full will result in an uneven chop, and that's not even a full cup of ingredient. It has a loud motor that practically screams. It's good for certain things but I upgraded to a serious full size food processor, which honestly doesn't take up much more space but is better in every imaginable way. This one will be adequate but will eventually make you want to upgrade. The price also went up $20 since I bought this Mueller, got it for $30 in 2021, which would make it an even harder sell if I were to buy it today.

One of those "Get what you paid for" deals.
Could I have spent twice as much money and gotten a better quality item - sure! Does it do the job that I need it to do, and it's still half the price - absolutely. It's not the greatest. It's definitely cheaply made and realized quickly after unboxing. What I need it for, is great! What most people are truly buying this to for, I feel will fail their expectations. I use it to scramble eggs - that's it.

This lil machine works like a charm!
I need to find out what other small appliances Mueller makes. If all of their products work the same as this little food processor, I gotta have them all! This is a reliable, inexpensive machine. If you are looking for a fancy food processor, that has attachments and different blades, this is not a machine you will like. This Mueller food processor is a small, and mighty workhorse, that can chop your onions without making you cry. I love mine.
