As advertised, these are the genuine article. Unless you live in Europe or possibly NYC, I'd advise going with these rather than fresh Alba truffles or truffle oils or creams, most of which are garbage, some of which are pretty good, but nothing like this. There's just too much uncertainty with the fresh ones to justify the additional cost (I've had both great experiences and horribly disappointing ones from the same sources at different times). The jar was enough for risotto for five one night and polenta for six another.

Very expensive, disappointed they added olive oil and not EXTRA vergin olive oil. Maybe it is done only for the export market, do not know.

If you want to taste the best white truffles in the world, you really only have 2 choices: Get on a plane and fly to Alba in Italy for the Fall season only. Or buy this kind of truffle paste. This is not cheap and obviously not a product for everyone. But white truffles are among the most expensive food in the world. They are very rare, and no one has been able to grow them successfully. White truffles need a perfect combination of soil, weather, latitude, alkalinity level, tree roots, and humidity in order to grow. It's an extremely difficult combination to achieve in nature. That's why they grow only in such a small area. If you are used to the artificial taste of white truffle oil, salt, or some other fake truffle product, forget that nasty and heavy aftertaste, and get ready to experience one of the most exclusive items on this planet. This paste should be diluted with some oil, butter, or cream in order to make a white truffle sauce. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend this product. You can thank me later.

I grew up in Germany and I remember tasting delicious truffle meals at our favorite local Italian restaurant. Since I moved to the US, I have tried unsuccessfully to find a product that remotely resembled the wonderful experience of a true truffle dish. Then I tried this white truffle paste and OMG! It brought back all the wonderful memories of those special meals I had when I was younger. Not cheap, but an absolute delight for anyone who truly enjoys the true taste of truffles.
