Q: I like these speakers, but I already have a DAC; is hooking up these speakers (with their built-in- DAC) to a system with a DAC a problem?

If you use your existing DAC to send sound to the speakers, then you will input into the speakers with analog red/white RCAs, which will bypass the DAC inside the speakers. The internal DAC for these speakers is only accessed when you input signal via USB.

Q: If I hook up these speakers via USB, can volume still be controlled by the computer or it needs to be controlled with the knob on the back of the speaker?

It can be controlled both by the volume on the back of the speakers as well as the computer usb input into the speakers.

These. I have the Bose Companion 3's. The power and speaker cable look the same so it's easy to do what I did mix them up when moving the speakers and replugging the cables. This broke my speaker cable so now I only have audio from one speaker. The cable isn't standard so it's really hard , close to impossible, to replace it . Go with this , the audio quality is probably better and it uses standard cables.

Q: When I turned on my PC the audioengine gives out a loud pop sound. Anyone experience this and if so, what's the cause?

The cause is a surge in your sound output when you turn on the computer. You should have the speakers turned off (via the volume knob in the back) before you turn the computer on. You should also turn them off before you turn the computer off.
