It is what it says it is.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 45 yr old Dad because he loves war/history books and movies. It is not a picture book. Every chapter has it's own category of stories. And that's what it is, all stories. Less pictures, more reading. And that's fine, but I figured I'd mention that in case you're looking for more of a picture book. This is a reading book. (I can't give it 5 stars for the simple fact that I'm not the one reading the book)

Great Mysteries and Intriguing Stories
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The various stories from World War II are fascinating and fun. Some of them are downright baffling. I highly recommend this book for history buffs or anyone who likes a good mystery.

Good research.
I bought this book looking for paranormal type happenings Not in this book. It's all surprising facts and things to find out but not paranormal events. Still interesting if war history is your thing.

This was a Christmas gift for our 15 year old grandson. He loves anything to do with world war two.
Though I have not read the book, I did page through it before I bought it. I found it spell binding. I think our grandson (Carter) has read it twice all ready and there are three others that want to read it when he is done. The author did a wonderful job. My father was in world war two and I remember him talking about a few things in the book. He was taken prisoner of war near the end of it.If you have any more books of this kind, I would love to see them. I think he would like a biography maybe. Please tell the author that the book gets two thumbs up.Barb Henry

" He and I love this book
My 86 year old dad Barry and I are loving it. 2018 (book came out in 1997). My dad was born (and raised) in Greenock, Scotland in 1932 and has a billion incredible personal stories he experienced in Scotland during "The Greenock Blitz is the name given to two nights of intensive bombing of the town of Greenock, Scotland during the Second World War when the Nazi German Luftwaffe attacked on 6–7 May 1941." He and I love this book.

WW II Mysteries
Interesting recounting of a few of what had to be thousands of strange events which ocurred on both sides in WW II. Ofparticular interest was the recounting of how many spies each side used and how much luck was involved in key eventts.

Interesting collection
The Second World War produced more than a few stories that stretch credulity but that are absolutely true. This collection includes a good selection of them, written casually for a casual reader. Good book for reading in short snatches. Entertaining and interesting and true.

This book will surprise
You think they would have told you everything about WW2 by now, this book explains that they kept a lot under their hats.
