Easy to use and more reliable than a lighter.

Bought this as a stocking filler. It arrived well packaged with enough charge to use, so suited this purpose.It's a decent gadget and works for lighting candles. A stream of plasma flows between two prongs at the end of the lighter and you then hold the flow over the wick, which quickly lights. The gap between the prongs is narrow which means you inevitably catch the wick. This can damage the wick and leaves soot on the end of the lighter. The lighter does come with a brush for cleaning, (I assume to make sure the prongs can conduct the flow).This won't replace a traditional lighter...you'd be hard pushed to light a fire or cigarette and the charge only lasts a few minutes, which means you would need to recharge before you lit the candles on you Nan's birthday cake.However the novelty factor of feeling like a ghost buster crossing the streams to light a candle is reason enough to recommend.

Much better than the lighters you have to refill, keeps its charge for a good while, easy to charge. However, while it will easily light tea lights, it won’t light the thicker wicks of larger candles.

Worked fine at the start, but it stopped charging after just a couple of months so I can't give it a good score.Atleast it wasn't expensive.

Much better than I expected for the price. Nice box with charging cable. Plasma flame is cool and works effectively for lighting one of the rings on our hob where the built-in ignitor doesn't work anymore.Can see it would light candles etc easily.Fantastic value!

Actually purchased this after reading that it can help to reduce static on Vinyl records. Was a bit sceptical but though I could also use it to light candles as I am fed up buying refillable lighters that can't be re filled. Well it definitely does seem to reduce the static on vinyl records and lights candles easily. My dad was impressed by it and have just ordered a second one for his caravan.

I use this to light the gas hob on my oven (given that the button you push to light them broke about 100 years ago).This replaced those refillable gas lighters that I never got around to refilling - so just had 4 sat in the kitchen, of which one worked!This product is so much better: very easy to use, looks smart, charge using a USB which is really convenient!Very pleased that I bought it.(only reason that battery life isn't 5 stars is because i've not had time to test it out fully)

This has been the best purchase I have made all year! Excellent value for money. No more lighting a fire using a whole box of matches! This easily lights a fire or candle at the push of a button. It charges quickly and is ready to use again in no time at all, a bonus is the charging cable is included. It is well packaged and would make an excellent gift. It also has a built in safety button too. This one is cheaper than others I have found but it is excellent quality and built for many years of use.
