Iwatani Portable Gas Grill BBQ Stove ABURIYA2 CB-ABR-2, Black

Me and my family went for a long trip to Japan. We were so excited about eating Yakiniku that when we came back home we just had to order a Japanese grill. This grill is absolutely great. The heat is strong enough to sear the meat quickly and it’s easy to use.A few things to be aware about though -1. This isn’t ideal for using inside your home. It’s smokes pretty bad. Use a big fan, even two. If you have a porch - better.2. The extensions are pretty much worthless - you can’t rotate the skewer and the meat/chicken takes forever.3. The mesh is impossible to clean. I’ve tried every possible scrubber and nothing works.So.. it’s not perfect but for this price it’s totally worth it.

So I live in an apartment and I don't feel like hauling things to and from the pool to use their grills. This little thing is perfect for grilling indoors in an apartment. Not gunna lie, still recommend you open a window and turn on your kitchen vent while cooking, but its totaply worth it in order to get that nice convient grill without setting off the smoke alarms. Grills pretty well and heats up within a reasonable amount of time.

Honestly I break it down and throw the whole thing in the dishwasher and it still work flawlessly. Only issues is its a bit of a pain to clean but totally worth it

Arrived in perfect condition.It gets plenty hot very quickly. It's very easy to get some good char on your food.My only complaint is that the hot zones are directly over the burners. The center of the grill will not do nearly as good of a job as the points over the burners. However they will absolutely get an amazing char on your food still, just not as quick as it would directly over the burners. A future model with a center burner would make this perfect.Regardless for my needs in a single home, this is perfect! I get amazing char on my proteins!Note: I strongly suggest using this out doors. This is NOT a smokeless grill and will produce a lot of smoke.

I actually saw this lil grill while in Japan and ordered it from Amazon to avoid lugging it home. Family dinner night now includes a grill night. First use was skewers of cubed wagyu, bacon wrapped mushrooms, chicken & onions, and more. I recommend getting the thicker bamboo skewers since the grill does get hot and the thin skewers tend to burn (yes, I did soak them for 2 hours). I'm going to try making smores for dessert next time.Clean up was easy as the grill disassembles...not sure if it's dishwasher safe. The grate needed some serious soaking and scrubbing because teriyake/bbq sauce is messy to grill with. You might have a problem with smoke if your meats are really fatty so use in a well ventilated area.Easiest thing to use. Pop in a cannister, add water to the bottom of the grill and you can start cooking immediately. Might be your go to item when the power goes off =)

I've had a friend who had 20% of his body burnt from propane explosion from a grill that did not fully ignite. This product is doing the exact same thing. Its just igniting the first few holes on the burner and the rest just leaking gas out. I tried all the trouble shooting and I'm left a bunch of the holes never igniting even after it being on for minutes. I wouldn't be comfortable recommending this for anyone.

It is easy to use and easy to clean. You can buy extra grill inserts to cycle through when cooking.I would not use this indoors unless you have a strong vent system. It can get very smokey especially if anything you are cooking has a sauce or fatty.As others have mentioned, the heat distribution is uneven. I have even set up wind guards but still get cold spots where the food doesn’t really cook. Be prepared to spend a good amount of time waiting for your food to char/brown if that is what you are aiming for.Additionally, as with these types of butane stoves, they lose pressure as the fuel can starts to get cold with use.My honest opinion, you are better off getting the Iwatani circular yakitori grill assembly and use that on top of a higher performing Iwatani stove. Cooks faster in my experience. Make sure the stove has raised sides around the burner to act as wind guards like the Iwatani Tough Maru stove. (The Maru Jr is probably too small.) Added benefit is that you now have a portable stove to cook outdoors with too.

Needed a good little grill for camping and this is a good solution. Definitely great for grilling meats and veggies and the fact it takes small butane can help with not taking up a bunch of space. Very satisfied with this purchase
