50/50 chance I would get a good one -- I lost
Bought this with a Hobbywing 13t motor bc I heard great things about Hobbywings products. Unfortunately this one was bad and whenever the engine ran for about 5 minutes it was in and out. When setting it up it the menus did not match any of the handouts as in settings. There was an extra setting and for the punch setting it only had 4 instead of 8 choices. I emailed Hobbywing and they did respond. I then sent in a video and pictures but they support has yet to respond on the new pictures. I did get a "we have never seen this before. I tried every setting possible, then replaced the Tamiya plug after it melted on me and I wasn't using a Lipo battery. It appears many people have good luck but it's a hit or miss with this one. I love the setup and the way the esc stays cool at all times. I dont like how the temperature control does not work nor do I like a menu that doesn't match any of the manuals. Although this one didn't work I am still going to buy another Hobbywing ESC. I just like their products and their dedication to the sport. I did not get my issue resolved was impressed but an Hobbywing's attempt to help me out. I'm not really sure if Hobbypower is a Hobbywing product after looking back.I took a risk based on the reviews and knew it was a hit or miss. I think Hobbywing is a good product line so I will replace with a higher level product and see what happens. I have the feeling in this case you need to pay a bit more to get a solid ESC. On this one I gambled and unfortunately lost. Pay more and get more with an ESC. Hobbywing is a good company so let's see what happens with the next one. I returned this Hobbypower for a Hobbywing ESC spending about $75. So, get a good one right off the bat and save yourself some hassle. I did get a refund from Amazon which was good.

Great...until it wasn't.
I wasn't really sure how to rate this. I purchased it for an old 1/10 Team Associated B4 buggy to use as a basher. At first I absolutely loved this thing. It works with the Hobby Wing programming card and had very smooth and linear acceleration. It actually performed far better than my castle sidewinder, almost no cogging. The buff was fast, good run times, everything was great. Then I decided to put larger rear tires on the buggy so I could drive it in a short mowed field track. It ran like normal for a few minutes and then quit. The motor would cog a little but the buggy really wouldn't even turn the tires. The esc smelled smoked and even after letting it sit and cool it didn't work again. I returned it. I do plan on trying another one but the durability might be in question. I may have just overloaded it, but I would have expected the esc to prevent self destruct.

I bought this esc a few weeks back, well ...
I bought this esc a few weeks back, well after only one use the esc stopped working. At first I thought it was my ,also new, motor that was defective, but I just received the replacement last night and upon installing it, it didn't work. At this point I made the conclusion it was the esc that was faulty. I did order a replacement and I'm hoping it's was a fluke. I will update when the new unit arrives and I hopefully get more then one use out of it. 2/2/2016

this ran fine in my short-course buggy
Despite the esc being rated for 3s, the manual states that the fan is NOT 3s capable, and would need to be replaced or rewired. After replacing the fan, this ran fine in my short-course buggy.I also tried it in a monster truck, but the system kept browning out, indicating a weaker BEC. If you're looking to run this in a larger truck, an external BEC appears necessary.

Great esc slow delivery
This esc is a very good speed control. I didn't have to solder anything except for the fan wire! It runs great. The delivery of it on the other hand took almost a month to get to me from china. I ordered a motor at the same time and it only took about a week and a half so I don't know why it took the esc so long.

It works really good, and fast
It works really good, and fast. I use it with the Traxxas brushless motor, after my Traxxas esc broke. Use with a 3S Lipo and have no problems. Recently the fan has been jamming up, but i haven't really looked into the cause of the problem. I have had it for about a month now.

Not meant for NiMH batteries
Good esc if you are only running on Lipos. Worked very well ith the GoolRC 5200kv and Lipo battery. It had some some issues while running NiMH. Car would just stall, which does not happen with my other car that has a 60a esc. Tried swapping motors, but no better results.

Smaller stronger and cheaper
So far so good. I was replacing a 35A-65A brushless ESC on my Maverick Strada Evo MT 1/10 4x4 and it is working just fine. Actually it has more advanced features than the one Maverick was shipped with. It can handle 60-380Amps and has 8 features in settings. Happy and recommend. Report back if any mishaps.
