the volume is very good, I set it around 70 so any negative ...
Now I have had it a while I will write my review, it's not gone wrong as of yet, no low bridges or restricted roads apart from a few wrong address's from base but that's not the sat navs falt so you use common sense when needed, the volume is very good, I set it around 70 so any negative comments on the volume are from people with poor hearing, the screen size and layout is bang on, I drive class 1 so everything that you need is there including night and day settings, there's a few glitches but nothing too bad, one is that it gives you a 30mph speed limit for M-way slip roads which apart from being wrong to enter a M-way at 30mph is dangerous... 50mph, it has settings for trucks, cars, bikes, cars and caravans etc so a good all round sat nav... just use your own sense when needed... set the sat navigation up with your vehicle dimensions and all should be good but still look for bridge heights and any restrictions... and carry a map for backup, I previously had Tom Tom truck 5150 pro, this garmin 770 is a much better sat navigation unit, the TomTom kept losing maps and at crucial times... 4 stars are down to the price.... fleecing people who are out to earn a living driving trucks because normal sat navigations are supplied in most new cars and on phones for free....

Don't waste your money
This is the worst sat nav I've used for a lorry ...takes you down roads to small for an 18t lorry ie side roads or country roads also takes you through smaller roads when there's a main road to your destination which is quicker.. When on a roundabout for an example you need 3rd exit it tells you to exit roundabout on the 2nd exit ?The screen gets to cluttered up with symbols so when in town you can't see which route to take very frustrating. .For the money it's a waste of space ...

It sometime have glitches after recalculation routes like if you need first exit of roundabout it will ...
Using it for 1 and half year daily. It realy likes to go around and keep you on big roads wheres sometimes can save some time going smaller roads. Therefore it has never taken me to restricted roads, but couple of times took me to very sharp junctions where only with reversing can get through (18T). It sometime have glitches after recalculation routes like if you need first exit of roundabout it will take you all around the roundabout to that exit than just first exit. it has happen when it try to take you half a mile back to turn around and get on the road where you already are.The biggest disappointment is lifetime traffic. in their t&c it says lifetime means as long as it gets data if it breaks lifetime has ended. traffic receiver is built in power cable, it is common sense that if you use it every day it will fail at some point. mine did after 1 and half year. New cable costs £65 what goes about £40 a year for traffic, a bit expensive for free lifetime traffic, and without traffic it is doing pretty much same thing as cheap Chinese sat nav which costs 5 times less. If I know that I would have bought something else.

all good and never mist a turn
I used this last week to drive to Germany, all good and never mist a turn. Be better if it has a program that only use's motorways on choosing a route but does this on long distances. But have happy with product. Can't wait to use it again. note: update the maps straight away when buying it as this does take time but better to be safe. taken me 1hr.

IT'S a must
The only disappointing thing was that I still had to buy the 12v charger as was told it no longer comes with the main unit. After buying one, OMG I wish I had got one sooner. It's awesome. Was in London at some addresses my other day nav couldn't find. The screen/display is very user friendly. Had to keep in on charge as playing with the settings and finding what it does. Great bit of kit.it The "voice command" is great as is the "Smartphone link" app on my android phone. finding places - planning routes etc I now find a doddle.

Useless for trucks
I've had mine over a year, endless messages to Garmin UK about the inability of there so called truck sat nav.. it's useless would never recommend this to anyone but a car driver.. for the price I paid, I should have bought a tom tom, the Garmin doesn't know how to route into motorway service areas, it tries to route you under low bridges because of weight restrictions, the live traffic is anything but live, as it still shows rush hour incidents at dinnertime.. and apparently the m6 north bound has been closed for most of the week, so this useless device is trying to route you around jct 14 to 15 simply because of night closures, but still assuming its closed during daytime... Garmin needs to rename themselves garbage.. wish I could get a refund... oh and they're customer services are about as helpful as their device!!

Can’t speak highly enough of this sat nav
Had this now 2 years and has never let me down. Driven all over uk and Europe and it has been fantastic. So easy to use and way better than any Tom Tom!!! The restraunt / stop finder is great and you always know you can get in and be able to park up. Love the fact that when it picks up Wi-fi in the yard it will automatically update maps. The traffic info is pretty reliable. Voice control is good and the hands free calling is perfectly adequate though the new lorry has built in parrot system so that function not used now.

Decent planning
As an ex-tom tom user it is missing some features I am used to and the screen is not as easy to navigate. Not a great library of available voices. Location capture and favorites are not easy to create or adding weigh points. Not found any way to import POI such as Greggs or McDonald's. Good bluetooth connection for phone so hands free is there. Would have liked a usb facility on the plug as in some vehicles there is only 1 charge point
