Very detailed
This book is brilliant for my son who has autism, dyslexia and adhd. He is 9 so i did have to skip out many pages as they were pretty detailed and he isnt ready for that. Its a book that you can revisit when the time is right for your child.

Confusing
The sequence of events is not right. The author didn't consult a SALT before writing this book as there are too many ambiguous phrases and words in it, which isn't helpful for those with Autism...Also the last page - snail analogy? Not relevant and insulting way to end the story and the message of the book. Massive Anxiety trigger! DONT BUY

Mixed ...
I bought this book for my daughter (7) who isn’t autistic but I wanted an easy to read book for her to start to learn about her body changing.I like the easy to read pages and factual information.I don’t like the pages that are heavily gendered eg about teaching my daughter to shave or that she will want to wear make-up etc when she is older. I don’t see the need for these pages in a book that should be about factual changes in the body not socially accepted constructs of what it is to be a woman. I will talk thru these pages and discuss choices that we all make but downplay the relevance of them. If the book is reprinted these should be removed.

Very simple and easy to read some parts more suitable for young women with disabilities
This book is ok I brought it for my 11 year old daughter with learning disabilities, possible autism ect. She is struggling with understanding and hygine. She was interested in the book. However I do not like how the book expresses a discussed face about pubic hair in the illustration.I also do not like how it encourages shaving, wearing makeup ect.I also do not like how it focuses and explains tampons in detail, I feel this information is more appropriate for a young women.I will now have to hide my shavers and tampons! Seeing as it is aimed for young girls with autism you should have considered how literal they are.I have explained she doesn't have to shave and about toxic shock syndrome after her reading this book. Which I believe she wasn't ready for. I will now need to hide them due to her disabilities after buying this book for her to read in fear she tries.

Graphic but great
Was not expecting the pictures to be so graphic my older kids giggles whilst checking it out. My youngest daughter seems to like the pictures and points she got hair just like me and she’s in the shower just like I do so I guess it is a really good book for her it helps her understand what is happening to her body As a child with disabilities it can often be hard to explain things this helps her visualise what’s happening I found it very helpful for her

Good start
Very good social type story for an autistic child. Felt that it could have included more on certain points but a great starter book. The girl version I feel is set out better and is more informative. A bit disappointed as I will have to find a similar type format book to aid teaching about other developmental aspects.

Highly recommend
So pleased with this book. I bought this for my 9 year old daughter (soon to be 10) who is on the spectrum. She really appeared to enjoy the book and asked quite a few questions. I am so thrilled as I rarely see her really engage with a book (other than Horrid Henry!). She wanted to take the book to bed to look at it again and she has asked me to buy the other books from the series including the one on boys growing up, which I guess is actually a good idea (I might have to vet this first of course). My 7 year old (soon to be 8) has also read the book, I had not intended her to do so, however due to the nature of the content she was comfortable doing it and said it was good. I would highly recommend this book.
