A surprisingly dark and involving little adventure flawed by some bad glitches
The media could not be loaded. I've played quite a few adventure games on the PC over the years, most of them being comedic and satirical with the few dark ones (such as The Black Mirror) thrown in. Edna & Harvey falls in the middle, despite being cartoonish at first glance. You play as Edna, who has been locked-up in a mental hospital by the head doctor who seems to harbor an intense grudge against her. Her only friend is her talking stuffed rabbit Harvey. Edna's memory isn't good so she can only recall fragments of her past through an ability called "Temomorphing" (imagine The Butterfly Affect crossed with Total Recall), which is an interesting dimension to the gameplay as well as being a cool, new word. The animation is intentionally choppy but the voice acting is good and the environments are all colorful and pleasant. There's always some little joke or gag to be found in every location. I found myself becoming quite invested in the story and it takes a few welcome risks, adding darkness to the overall cute tone. Sadly there is a big glitch towards the end of the second act where the game does not allow you to solve the kitchen menu puzzle. I had to download a save game from the Daedalic website to get past this (they are aware of this problem, but, as far as I know, have not released a patch to correct it). This new save file cuts out a half-hour chunk from the game, thus skipping over achievements. By the end, I had only unlocked 4 of 18, which is infuriating. Surely 14 unlocked achievements are not all in that chunk that I missed! When I look at the names of these achievements I cannot for the life of me think about which part of the game these could possibly involve. Very annoyed by this. The trading cards are only worth one badge too, as they don't change when you level-up.I hope the sequel is not as buggy, because these problems spoiled what would otherwise be a solid 4/5 rating.

Quirky, fun game
This game took a long time to play as we found it extremely difficult - some of the combinations are not at all obvious so the walkthrough had to be used occasionally. However it was a lot of fun with well acted characters and good dialogue. You're completely lost at first about what's going on but gradually things become clearer and there's a large number of items to collect and places to walk around. The main problem that stops the game getting 5 stars is that there seems to be an awful lot of backtracking and I did get fed up of endlessly going in and out of the same rooms. Also having to click on the verb selection in order to do an action gets a bit clunky. The ending is a bit strange but understandable.

Charmingly bonkers!
Absolutely mad game and not very pc. Enjoyable storyline and not too challenging tasks. I do hate it when the puzzles aren't based in logic but these were. A different and unusual game.

Good story
I liked this game. It's just a little bit off-the-wall and the characters are just strange enough to keep the attention. I'm glad I bought it and I enjoyed playing it.
