Incredible bird feeder, no more pests!
The media could not be loaded. Update: a couple of months on and this is the best bird feeder ever!! Worth every penny and zero mess on the floor. What a fantastic bird feeder! We have fed our garden birds for years and have been incredibly lucky living on a housing estate to see so many in our garden. However, having so many visitors ended up with a rat issue. Firstly a female and eventually her offspring. And whilst rats are incredible animals in their own right, the way we fed the birds needed to change so the rats would leave. And this bird feeder has completely changed the game. Our messy Goldfinches no longer drop seeds all over the floor and it's helped all of the rats realise that the tuck shop is permanently closed.Uneaten or dropped seeds fall into the base and can be re-used, so hardly any waste.OK, yes, pretty pricey, but we'll constructed and worth every penny so far!

4.5 star rating. The 'bird' tables have turned.
£40 for a plastic bird feeder! I think beer played a part. Arrived as planned and in good order. My opinions for what they're worth. Well designed and constructed from robust materials. Tick. I filled one side with crushed up mealworm and the other with mixed seeds. Hung the feeder in much the same place the old one used to be. My viewing place is my chair where I see it all going on including red kytes with their 5 – 6 ft wingspan soaring high. They'll not trouble my bird feeders. Now my reason for buying this feeder was the fact the 'gang' of sparrows were dominating the old feeder so the other birds didn't stand a chance. They also showered the mealworm all over the place and a fat visiting rat needed a diet. I was also spending a stupid amount of ££ on mealworm.Within half hour the small birds were checking things out and it was game on. I soon had two robins and several blue-tits tucking in. Mealworm has to be crunched up a bit to flow through the outlet. Sparrows were now the ones with their beaks pushed out of joint. So, Gary. Why have you knocked off half a star? It's the 'no food on the ground' part of the claims. Almost. Some blue tits take the food then stand on the edge of the feeder facing outwards with it and inevitably some is dropped to the ground. Feeding rats again? Well, actually, the ousted sparrows were scrambling around on the ground picking up the scraps from above.I will be saving money from less spillage as the seller suggests which justifies the horrendous cost. As I glance up, the robin and a blue tit are feeding together. Happy days.More on mealworm. Crunching them up didn't work too well. That just bunged things up. Today I'm trying whole mealworm instead of crushed up on one side and seeds on the other. I also noted the collection chamber had worked well with a fair amount in it and and that would have fed ratty had it fell on the ground.Whole mealworm didn't drop through so well, so I devised a cunning plan. I modified two of the four outlets on one side. About a quarter of an inch of the plastic removed, leaving the other outlet side for seed. This works really well and as I write this the sparrow gang are raiding all around it. Very few blockages now. And yes, the clever collection tray works well, but the birds have terrible table manners and through the food around like there's no tomorrow. I'd say about a fifth ends up on the ground which is still better than other feeders. I stand by my 4 . 5 stars.

Does attract larger birds.
It’s a good idea but larger birds such as magpies and wood pigeon will be attracted to it so maybe avoid if you only want smaller birds. Can’t fault the amount of seed it holds and the tray at the bottom does catch most of the seed when smaller birds are feeding.

Impossible to fit.
I bought two of the round discs to attach to both feeders ~ all ordered at the same time. These are impossible to fit onto the feeders (I tried on both). They’re just a round stiff piece of plastic with very limited flexibility. The instructions basically say to pull the ring apart (there’s a gap) and put it on.Impossible.After half an hour I have given up.Waste of money and time, as well as making my hands sore after over 30 mins trying in every way I could think of to get the gap wide enough to attach around the feeder.Hopeless and infuriatingly disappointing.I cannot return them as I removed the protective film.I’d have given 0 stars if it were possible.

Well made but crows love it
I bought this bird feeder for two reasons. First, to stop bird food spillage that was attracting unwanted garden guests (aka rodents). It does a great job. The feeder’s solid, sturdy, and catches all the seeds in the tray. The second reason was to encourage small birds to feed. The crows, however, are basically the Houdinis of the bird world. It didn’t take long for them to figure out how to hang on for dear life while the feeder spins like a carnival ride. After about 5 seconds, they get dizzy and bail, but after re centering themselves, they’re back to try again. The food lasts about a day, except the niger seeds. I might try hanging the feeder from a long rope next time to make it swing even more. It probably won’t stop the crows, but at least it’ll look hilarious and make their acrobatics a bit more challenging.

Bird feeder
So glad I found this bird feeder. Worth every penny. The design allows the birds to feed without dropping all the seed on the floor. Seed falls into lower compartment which can then be unscrewed and put back into bird feeder. The birds absolutely love it. I found that it hung a bit low on my bird stand, however I solved this problem by using a plastic cable tie to adjust the height and it works perfectly. I was also having a problem with large birds like rooks stealing the food from the little ones , this solved the problem as it frightens them off plus it’s impossible for them to use it as they are too big. Cleaning is a little awkward as cannot remove the top from the hanging section but managed to sterilize placing whole top half in a large bowl. Bottom half is easy to sterilize. This however does not put me off buying this product I Would give it more stars if I could.
