I'm so glad I got a chance to review this floor mat. I've worked from home for over a decade and I've gone through a lot of the "gorilla" type plastic floor mats that have never seemed to last. The issue with past floor mats has always been cracking over time, especially on carpeted applications where padding creates pressure points under the chair wheel versus a hardwood floor where support is much better for the mat itself.This mat comes packed in a simple cardboard box and held in place with cardboard and foam in the corners of the box to snug it up during shipment. I was worried I might receive a broken floor mat given its glass construction, so I was quite relieved to see how well packaged it is and in one piece! There are also some rubber adhesive "feet" in the box (look closely before discarding the box as they are in a small ziplock bag!) that can be installed on the bottom of the mat if you choose to use on a hardwood floor. I did not use these as my application is a carpeted office area.Overall, this is a beefy floor mat constructed of heavy duty tempered glass that looks to be about 3/8" thick. Because of the thickness and construction, it's perfect for carpeted floors and I have no doubt of its 1200 lb rating. This is by far the best floor mat I've used and hope that it lasts another decade for me. I totally recommend it for carpeted applications.

I like the rounded, clear, glass design over my previous rectangular glass mat. It feels like a durable thickness I haven't had any concerns with it breaking. The glass is still easy enough to see on carpet so it's not a tripping hazard, but is still transparent enough that it doesn't visually look like it is taking up a lot of floor space (unlike my previous smaller rectangular smoke-glass mat.)

My previous floormat was a thick acrylic slab that worked great for years, but even though it was made for carpet, eventually the edges started to curl and my chair would shift on its own when I would be sitting in it and I would spend the day fighting my chair. I needed an upgrade and this massive slab of glass was perfect. It is super thick and HEAVY, definitely moving it is a two person job! Especially if you live on the second floor.My only complaint, and it is minor, is how slippery it is. I was used to the acrylic slab that rolling on was somewhat difficult and it had grip, since I tend to sit cross legged in my chair, any shift sends it moving a lot because it is glass, so it is taking a little getting use to, but I love not having to use as much effort to move around my desk area. I do also have to wear compression socks and the surface is glass, I have almost slipped on the glass slab a few times, but those are honestly me problems. I really like the floor mat, it is so heavy duty and fancy and so much nicer than my old floormat. I appreciate how easy it is to clean (already spilled paint on it, no staining, just wiped it clean) and how it keeps my apartment carpet from being trashed.

First, I am sure this is durable tempered glass because the packing it came in allowed one end of the mat to protrude and drag on the cement. This was just a minor cosmetic issue and didn’t crack or damage the mat overall. There were no other noticeable defects. Second, this makes your chair roll very smoothly and is an upgrade over plastic or vinyl chair mats. This makes it easy to clean. Because of how heavy this mat is at over 30lbs it won’t move or shift as easy and will protect the floor longterm.Overall, very satisfied and makes the overall home office a lot more elegant.

I've been wanting to upgrade to a glass floor mat for some time now and I'm so glad I did. My chair just glides over the surface, and there's no more indents from the chair wheels or cracking over time. This is a pricier option than the plastic ones but it will last forever and looks great. Very happy with this option.It also came very well packed and was light enough for me to carry and put into its proper position under my desk.
