My first Water Chef Shower Filter System was a birthday gift which was installed a year ago. Almost instantly the itchy skin (along with the chlorine) was gone! Yes, I waited way past the expiration date to replace the filter -- it was lost inside the linen closet! Recently purchased a second shower filter for my husband along with 2 replacement filters. Must return the shower unit for the nickel finish so make sure you check the finish before you place the order! The units come with a removable clear label to note the install & replacement dates to remind you when it's time to replace the filters. A great product that makes an amazing & unique gift.

Our daughter is allergic to chlorine and gets terrible eczema over her whole body. We chose this because it was rated the best to eliminate chlorine. We had the water coming from the waterchef tested by the town water commission and there was 0.00 chlorine. We have had it for 2 months and she has no eczema. Great for elimination of chlorine and a really nice shower head as well.

The water pressure wasn’t not too adversely affected, the pressure is still pretty close to original. The first thing I noticed was the water was slightly less slippery and felt like I was more clean. The water taste in my mouth from the shower was less offensive too. After the shower I noticed my skin was softer than normal too. I assume less chlorine means less stripping off my body oils and leaves my skin softer. Overall I’m happy. I did switch out the shower head to keep my original XL large head waterpick (oddly enough the pressure seems better on that one too). Do be warned that the initial flush of the shower head was extremely black and sooty (very messy). Make sure you aim the head down the drain on first use otherwise the black carbon powdery will spray everywhere and splash up and make a mess on your walls and shower curtain like it did for me (even though it was aimed perfectly in the middle of my bath tub the splash up made mess). This is a non issue though it’s just a warning to be mindful of it and we all expected some black to wash out, I just wasn’t expecting that much (it came out like solid black paint) I woild recommend this model to anyone in the market for one of these.

I just moved into a house with well water and the whole-house filtration system is a little down on the to-do list. So, after some research, I decided to purchase this filtered shower head. I am so glad I did! The water in my house has a ton of iron and sulphur and this filter does a great job of removing most or all of it (haven't actually had it tested, but there is virtually no odor in the water). My hair and skin were dry and my hair was turning from blonde to a lovely orange color. This, along with a hair treatment for well water (Malibu), have given me my blonde back! Plus, my skin isn't so dry and the shower is much easier to clean. I don't now how long the filter will last, but this system is SO worth the money!Also, this was very easy to install and there are no leaks or issues whatsoever. Good water pressure and the hand-held model is great for washing the dogs and cleaning the shower.
