Teen's favorite gift
We purchased this keyboard as a Christmas present for one of our grandsons who was 12 at the time. He was beyond thrilled and immediately started playing around with all the different sounds it could make. We had a hard time getting him away from it long enough to open the rest of his Christmas presents. This continued until his parents headed home. I am sure this is not for everyone but if you need a starter piano/keyboard I highly recommend this one.

Great keyboard!
I am really happy with this instrument, and surprised at the quality of the sound and the price. I've always liked Yamaha products, motorcycles, tuner/amplifiers, guitars, and now keyboards. It's been awhile since I've bought anything, so was a little concerned whether the quality was still there. I'm happy to say the quality is still there! This device has many diff sounds and options, but all I really wanted was a piano type keyboard, and this one fits the bill. The keys are full size, the touch is fine, and it really sounds like a piano. I fiddled with a cpl other optional sounds, guitar, voice (chorale, really pretty), I guess Grand Piano is the default. I'm not an expert, I can't address what qualities make a good piano good, but for my beginning needs and questionable talent this keyboard is just right. It's light enough that I can move it around, set it on a coffee table ( it has soft pads, won't scratch anything) or whatever; just plug it in and play. 61(full size) keys is plenty for me, and makes the size good for serious work while still being portable. Tones gradually fade if you keep the keys depressed, like a piano, or stop abruptly if you raise up your fingers. I believe a Sustain pedal is available, plus a stand if you need one (I don't). I haven't hooked it up to any other devices, spkrs or whatever, but the sound from the instrument is better than I expected and all I need for now...and plenty loud enough; I just had it on about 1/4 volume. I bought it to replace a Casio I had yrs ago, and every thing about this keyboard is better than my old Casio, and $50 less in price(the Casio did have a stand, and no complaints). It may not be a professional type electric piano, but it's def not a toy. I'm very happy with this purchase!

Great Starter Piano
Bought this bc I moved out and missed my moms piano! Def not the same but a great stand in until I decide I am dedicated enough to purchase a higher end keyboard. The keys are non weighted so it’s really different in that aspect and you can’t soften your playing for music scores accordingly. I love that it has a metronome and tons of different sound options! It’s so fun to mess around on! The demo songs are silly and probably more fun to kids. The manual it comes with is super in depth and helpful. Overall a really great purchase and has brought me lots of joy as a mediocre player :)

Our kids love it
Please understand, before reading this, that this our first and only keyboard, so we don't have anything to compare it to. That being said, we love it.It all started with our 12 yr old daughter asking if she could give us the money to buy her a keyboard on Amazon. My wife and I discussed it and decided to just buy it as we felt we would all play with it. We did some research and read reviews for keyboards in the lower price range and we decided on this Yamaha. My wife hasn't used it and after spending a little bit of time I have decided that playing the piano is not something I will ever be good at. Our kids, however, have played it daily since it arrived. Both of them can play multiple songs including Carol of the Bells, a couple of Linkin Park songs plus others that I dont recognize but sound good. Neither one of them have ever played a keyboard before. I set up an old tablet on the music stand and they find things on YouTube that they learn to play. Next up is online lessons using the tablet. I'm hoping that actually teaches them to read music and be abke to play by reading.Good: almost everything.Bad: there is only one sound level when you hit a key. Id like it to sound soft if you lightly touch a key or hard if you slam the key. It's not a huge problem at this stage of their learning though.Overall, we are VERY happy with this purchase!

Good sound and volume control
I was replacing a Yamaha keyboard I had had for 30 years that finally died. I am not the best reviewer to give you in-depth knowledge about this instrument. I only use it to practice songs I’m preparing for choir . I only set the keyboard voice on Grand Piano so I can pick out my notes and have them sound decent (….although not really like a real piano.). I already read music and I haven’t used any of the many features listed to learn to play or add accompanying instruments. I chose the cheapest keyboard I could find with 5 octaves so I can play the single soprano line I need. I don’t have the space or money for a real piano. I plug this in to an electric outlet and have no plans to use batteries with it nor travel with it.

Great keyboard!
Bought this for my husband for Christmas because he wanted to learn to play. I had a keyboard when I was younger and it was like carrying weights when you picked it up. It was sooooo heavy. When this was delivered I went to my porch and squated ready for the weight of this thing. I even grunted picking it up as my kids looked on through our screen door only to find out this thing is lighter then my 4 year old. Honestly the box is the same weight as the keyboard. That was the first plus. Next was the sound. Does this have superior sound like some keyboards that are hundreds or thousands of dollars but it’s still a very crisp and clear sound. My husband also had a blast going through all the sounds and beats that come on it. We did order a foot peddle and stand separately. Bottom line if you’re on the fence climb down and buy this. Excellent price, product, quality.
