Recommended, but side catches a fiddle
I bought this loft hatch door as a replacement for the plastic one fitted 12 years ago which had yellowed and looked unsightly.Size:Frame fitting size: 562mm wide x 726mmOverall size: 821mm x 656mmOpening size: 700mm x 530mmThe size of this door fitted my requirements perfectly; 562mm x 726mm is a standard fitting size (38mm thick trussed rafters or ceiling joists spaced at 600mm centres). Furthermore, the external dimensions of this hatch door match my previous one, which was necessary in this instance to match a border in the ceiling artex.Build:Clearly, being made of plastic it is not as sturdy as a wooden hatch. However, it certainly feels sturdy enough for its intended purpose. Indeed, the build quality seems superior to the old one and the insulation is thicker (50mm thick in total).Fitting:Very easy to fit on my own with a screwdriver and a stepladder. Took a matter of minutes.Use:Generally speaking it is easy to use. Yet, I find it slightly fiddly to lock the hatch and engage the catch both sides. If I just hold it up and twist the central handle the natural flex of the door prevents both side catches aligning and thus engaging simultaneously. It still holds shut like this but it is worth mentioning. I find that to align and thus engage both side catches I have hold both sides up whilst twisting the central handle. This requires three hands or two hands and an awkwardly placed elbow. This is a minor niggle though.Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would happily recommend the product to others.

Very light-weight and flimsy frame. Needs careful installation to avoid distortion and air leaks.
Cheap and cheerful, but has a very neat appearance once installed. But care needed, and plenty of clearance in the hole, to avoid distortion of the very flimsy frame. The thermograph shows that my door seems to be only fully airtight in one place (Really not sure why, as the door does seem to seat well all around.) BTW At the time this pic was taken, I had already added additional wool insulation in the narrow cavity surrounding the door, and had also caulked all around the inside and outside of the frame to avoid airleaks. I'm being super critical and fussy here - it is about the cheapest hatch on the market, after all! But I went for of ease of installation, as this was the same size as the old hatch. A much better (and more expensive) steel and PIR hatch being smaller than this, unless I paid three times the price for a custom-sized one. You pays your money and makes your choice! Overall, reasonably happy with my purchase.

Very pleased with it.
At last we found what we wanted!A loft hatch that fits wellA loft hatch that has a twist opening. We needed a hatch that would fit flush with the hallway ceiling in our new bungalow. The opening is very easy to twist but secure enough to seal the hatch. We didn’t take the door out to fit it as we had read it was fiddly to put back in & we managed together. It looks absolutely amazing and we feel the hallway is warmer already,Quick delivery came quicker than originally quoted timeframe.

Okay - and way better than the standard polystyrene version
Okay, but fairly flimsy build quality. The insulation is way better than the polystyrene version - and doesn't leave little white bobbles everywhere. It's absolutely draft free once installed and has transformed our landing from a draughty wilderness to really quite snug. It's a bit tricky to square up into the aperture because it's so insubstantial; that said I did the job on my own - it would have been easier with an extra pair of hands. I managed to split a couple of the plastic screw lugs by being a little over-enthusiastic in horsing the screws up tight; some small shims behind them would have sorted this..The worst bit was removing the old loft hatch - the house had clearly been built around the loft hatch. I used a reciprocating saw to cut through the hidden nails. If you've got a hatch of the right dimensions (562 x 726 mm) this is great, otherwise be prepared to do a bit of shimming and packing.I've heard reports of it yellowing with time, seems odd because I can't imagine any sunlight falling on it. If it does discolour the material is paintable with regular household emulsion.Do a quick Google for "Manthorpe Building Products GL250/03" and you can find the fitting instructions leaflet.
