Works as described
I have not tested the disc duplication feature, but I was able to read off my old hard drives, testing 2.5" & 3.5" drives, SATA & IDE. USB 3 connection seemed to respond well, copying files.

Does NOT work with my Seagate Barracuda 3.5" IDE drive.
Bought this so I could access a couple old IDE drive in a computer that died. While it seemed to mount the Western Digital drive just fine, it does NOT mount the Seagate Barracuda drive because the 40 pin socket is about 1mm further to the left on the drive when you're looking at it. The designer made it so that you could adjust the 4 pin power connecter, which is a great idea. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the 40pin IDE socket. It is fixed; and since the HDD has the socket almost to the edge of the drive, it won't mount. Really wish it worked. But, since it doesn't for the reason I bought it, back it goes, and I'll look for an alternative solution that just uses a ribbon instead.

Very useful for new and legacy drives
I've been using this dock for several days now and am very happy with it. The clear shell looks great, and the internal LED lights are not just functional but look cool as well.I've used it to recover about 10 hard drives so far, and it's still going strong. SATA drives appear to be hot-swappable. Haven't tried hot-swapping an IDE drive.Copying files seems pretty quick. Can't verify USB3 speeds as all the drives so far have been older spinners. Drives are recognized very quickly, even on older computers (10 years and older). One thing I love about this dock is that drives only show up in your computer if something is actually plugged in. My old dock would reserve a drive letter for all media slots evenif nothing was plugged into them, which was quite annoying. Multiple partitions on one physical drive show up as multiple drives as one would expect. Have not tried booting from any docked media yet.I have not tried copying between devices connected to the unit (for example from a docked hard drive to an inserted USB flash drive). In fact, I haven't tried using the USB ports as storage at all. However, the USB ports do work great with a keyboard and mouse connected to them. Have not tried the other media ports yet either.Very pleased with this purchase so far. I hope it continues to work for a long time.

Great tool if you have old drives/need capacity
Pretty decent drive reader here. I like the universal aspect in that it supports SATA and IDE. The card readers and USB hub on the front are a bonus. Drive read speeds are pretty optimal with usb 3 interface to the computer. One thing that could better is that the plastic molding itself is a little too snug to the interface connections for SATA and IDE. I had some server drives with some side molding on them as they were rack mounted and they do not fit in the reader slot unless i remove those side rails.

Works well for data transfer, a bit tight plugging in some drives
Works well for data transfer, a bit tight plugging in some drives, especially old IDE/PATA laptop drives
