The box itself is of good quality and will likely survive the use as an advent calendar removing one door at a time. The perforations are adequate enough to access the contents easily. The “doors” are numbered but not in a linear order and some of them are very difficult to see. I had to use a lighted magnifier to see that some of the numbers were printed on black because I otherwise could not see them at all. I will choose to use a metallic marker to rewrite the numbers and make them more visible but for some, it might be a fun activity to discover the hidden numbers.The socks are of decent quality with no misprints that I noted. The “no show” socks are in pairs but the “crew” style socks are singles with no matches in the set. I have previously purchased the licensed version of this, and I do not see much difference other than the licensed name is not present. The quality is about the same.

I’m a big HP fan. Plus, I love unique advent calendars. So, why not put both of those together, of course!! I was so excited to try this out for Christmas. But I will start by saying this: be aware that the description indicates that you are only getting 1 long sock for each design. You get a pair for the ankle socks, but only one sock for the longer socks. They say that is so that you can mix and match, but…why? Why would I want to do that? I would much rather have an entire matching pair. But again, this is in the description. Just be sure you consider whether you or the person you are getting this for would like just one sock in a pair.Now onto the other stuff. The advent doors are easy to pop open and you don’t need to maneuver anything too much to get the sock or socks out. You can also open the entire box up quite easily to see all the socks and remove them that way if you prefer. The socks themselves are quite comfortable. I am a size 9.5 and they seem to fit me nicely. The designs and quotes on each sock are cute and I’ll definitely be wearing these while I watch all the movies!

WE all have those book readers in our families. The Harry Potter series is a favorite to many readers. The box itself is well designed. It is nice to look at while waiting day to day to open the sock daily mystery. The wonders of which "house" or Harry Potter idea will come to life. Its something different to do for the days of December that is not chocolate related.

The original ad has been rewritten. It was very confusing to start.There are 14 calf high socks... None match, you only get 1 (one) of each. That was not originally explained, or I would not have requested them. No one in our house wears mix matched socks, some even tend to throw out stray or single socks (it's an OCD thing), so several of these had to be rescued from the trash.There are 10 pair of matching ankle socks.The texture is nice, they slip on easily. The elastic in the top of the calf highs seems a tad tight.Our house has a variety of Hogwarts members, so those sorted in Ravenclaw (2) and Slytherin (1) found no house socks. Bummer.One pair I found to be on the 'adult' side, 'Not Today Muggle...'. I claimed those. Well, I am the oldest. lolTo sooth upset younger members of our household I bought another set and hope the socks in that set match the other calf socks from this set.**Edit The second set did indeed contain matches for the single socks.

I really like the concept and it's great for the HP fan, but the mismatched crew socks is a little weird. Since this is for my kids and they don't mind mismatched, I guess it's fine, but why not just put the matching sock on another day if you didn't want to put the pair in for a single day? You can see in the picture the divide between the matching no shows and the mismatched crews. If you only look at the initial product photo (like I did) it looks like you'll get a pair of each shown.You get 14 mismatched crew socks and 10 matching no show socks that come in a pair for the day. The quality of socks is nice.
