It's my own fault :-(
You get what you pay for with this tubeless rim tape. It splits, it leaks, it doesn't work.Tried four times to get a seal around valve. Finally changed to some branded rim tape, Peaty's as it happens, sealed first time perfectly.I shouldn't have been so tight!

Was not really sticky enough imo, did not stick to rim very well, so used gorilla tape instead.
