Neko Atsume Kitty Collector: Where Am I Meow?

Being a cat-lover, I adore Neko Atsume! I've been playing the famous kitty collector app since February 2016, and I love collecting the merchandise. A year ago I bought the original imported Japanese version of this book and enjoyed it even though I don't know the language; I figured out quite a few pages, but others were still unclear due to the language barrier. So I was absolutely thrilled to see that this was being translated and adapted by Viz Media for English-speaking Neko Atsume lovers. I pre-ordered "Where Am I Meow?" (along with the Neko Atsume Haiku book) in January, and I'm delighted with this adorable and fun "Where's Waldo?" type activity/puzzle book. Now I can enjoy this book to the fullest because I know exactly which cats I am supposed to locate on each page.The artwork is the same cute and cartoony style as the game, but you can find your favourite kitties of Neko Atsume frolicking and adventuring in many beautiful, fantastical, and colourful places that you won't find in the game. There are even pages with lovely holiday themes, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. There are certain cats (amongst a vast array of others) that you have to find on each page, and there is an answer key at the back pages of the book to check if you have found the right cats.There are also some awesome extras, including a "Cat Dictionary" section featuring kitty character profiles that give short and sweet, amusing descriptions of all the cats that were present in the game before Frosty, a "Neko Atsume Shop" section displaying all the toys in the game, and two pages of very nice stickers (which can optionally be used in the first few puzzle pages).The level of difficulty of the puzzles is just perfect -- not too difficult for children, but not too easy for adults. This is an entertaining and wonderful activity book for anyone. If you love Neko Atsume and cats, you will love this book. The adorable cats always put a smile on my face, and it's a pleasant little book to read and look at any time you are bored. Finding each cat is calming and encourages concentration, and if you really know your Neko Atsume kitties, you will have no problem figuring out the puzzles!The "Cat Dictionary" profile pages are perfectly written, describing each cat and its unique "purr-sonality". Note: just as in the game, the cats' genders are NOT specified, which is good, because you can decide for yourself. The endearing little descriptions give you more understanding of each cat character that you won't find in the game.Unfortunately, there are a few typos here and there, mainly on the cat profiles -- e.g. missing punctuation which makes some of the sentences run-on.Otherwise, the book is very well-written, and maintains its charming Japanese style, and is very close in translation to the original version.I highly recommend "Where Am I Meow?" to Neko Atsume fans and cat lovers of all ages. It is a book worth collecting, along with "Neko Atsume Haiku". I really hope Viz Media translates all the Japanese Neko Atsume books! I would collect every single one! 😻

My kids liked the content of the book. The binding glue is very cheaply applied. Pages fell apart when my 6 yo picked the book by the back cover, and they cut their finger by the paper. This book gave them their first paper cut.

The book is very cute and entertaining, however, the quality could be better. When I first bought the book, several of the pages fell out the first time I opened it. And when I got a replacement, i can see one of the pages already starting to come apart. Also, I noticed that at least one answer in the answer key is wrong. It has Spots circled and labeled as Sunny. Sunny is the correct answer but they circled the wrong cat. So all in all it's very cute and the activities are nice, but I'd also like to open it without worrying about the pages falling out.

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend at the time, who loves Neko Atsume. She looked through it once, and it has sat on the bookshelf ever since. It has really great, cute artwork, but it just doesn't hold its value for very long. Perhaps only ideal for children or super hardcore Neko Atsume merchandise collectors.

This is such a cute book. There are all the OG cats, a seeking page, and fun art of scenery and costumes. There are tiny little stickers, so that's adorable. I checked out the other books, and liked this one best

We purchased two of these, 1 year apart, and both had terribly loose binding, and the pages would just fall out. Its a shame because this is a cute book (for those who like the app), but don't waste your money.

This was a very nice book to read- atleast for the first time, it gets a little boring after the first read though. I was expecting a book detailing about where the cats are now and where they were based from, but it’s a book similar to where’s waldo and some cute stickers. Other than that, the book is very cute, was packaged pretty okay and was in great condition :)

My daughter loves this book however after a few hours of looking at it the pages have started falling out. Now less than 24 hours of looking at it the pages have become completely dislodged from the spine.

The content of this book is great; beautiful illustrations, colourful pages filled with plenty of the cats we all love from Neko Atsume (please note, not all cats are included in this book such as White Shadow, Billy the Kitten, Apricot, etc.) - buyer beware, this book is very poorly constructed, first day of owning the book, pages started falling apart from the spine, poorly glued! If the illustrator is reading this, please address this - thank you.

I read some reviews that the book fell apart, but we have not experienced this problem, yet. The book was a gift and was very well received, it was a great surprise that it came with a page of stickers in it. Very cute book, the cover was very nice too. Glad I bought it.
