Honest Amish Beard & Body Soap (Slick)

I purchased this exactly one month ago, so I've been using it for approximately 28 days now. I use it every day, but only for my beard. It is winter in Wisconsin and it is incredibly dry. If I use this on my skin it dries it out too much. Paradoxically, when I combine this with my Honest Amish Beard Balm it is as if my skin was never dry from using the soap.I find this to be an important factor to consider due to the fact that when I use other soaps that dry out my skin too much my skin is subsequently extremely dry throughout the day--even when I apply my beard balm. When I lived in Hawaii I never had to use anything for my beard, but now in the dry winter climate of Wisconsin it is a must for me. If not, my face gets so itchy that I scratch it until it bleeds.Previously I used Maestro's beard wash, and then I tried Grandpa's Pine Tar bar soap. I wanted something more natural so, after two years, I made that switch. I used it a few days and stopped because that smell was disgusting. I then swapped to this beard soap and it left me wondering why I never used it in the first place! It's cheaper that the Maestro's stuff, smells great, and is long lasting. One needs only rotate the soap twice in one's hand to have enough to wash a beard my size. I actually don't even run this under the water to get it wet. Interestingly enough, I run the shower to get it warm, and by the time I get in the soap is already wet enough from humidity for me to be able to use it. Again, I merely rotate it twice in my hands, and I've more than enough to wash my beard.This block has [seemingly] not diminished in size, and I suspect it will last until June. That's a seven month life expectancy! See the pictures for proof and compare what it looks like new with the product photo. You can tell that it's not changed much. (Please not that every bar looks slightly different at the top).Summary:Buy it. It'll last, and, when one combines it with their beard balm, it works best for those who battle dry skin in dry winter climates. I'd also recommend storing your soap on a platform that has raised ribs or something like what I've got in the last photo so that your soap lasts longer.

I'm amazed at how little is needed to get a full lather going. I take the bar and wipe it once from ear to ear on my wet beard; that's all it takes. The instructions say to keep it out of running water, and I understand that now after using it. If your soap dish gets a constant stream this thing will be gone in a week.There's a moderately strong scent, and I'd probably take a star off if it didn't wash away. It leaves my beard squeaky clean and does a good job at removing yesterday's mustache wax. I'll buy another bar when this is gone.

This does a good job getting the balm and day's dirt out of my beard. It leaves my beard feeling soft and it is easy to comb out.As noted elsewhere, keep it out of running water and it will last a very long time. I cut about an 1/8th of the bar (so it would fit on the soap dish with the other soap) and it has lasted for more than a month so far. Since I only use it on my beard, this one slick will end up lasting a very long time.I love the smell but, unfortunately, it does rinse out with the soap. I'd be happy if it lingered a bit longer.

I was amazed at the size of the bar of soap, it’s bigger than I expected, so excellent quantity for price. I did cut the bar into four equal squares, as I find smaller pieces last longer. Remember, don’t let this soap sit in water after use; I store it in uncovered, dry soap holder after use to let soap air dry...believe me your soap will last much longer. Soap lathers great and really makes my beard smooth. I’m an Amish beard product nut, so I usually apply either Amish Beard Oil or Beard Balm after beard shampooing. Can’t comment on soap scent, as I lost my sense of smell ages ago 😫. I have been using Professor Edward J Fuzzworthy’s Beard Gloss Shampoo soap, another wonderful product, but will definitely be adding Honest Amish Beard and Body Soap to my beard maintenance arsenal! LOVE IT!

I have been using this soap for about a week now on my head, beard and body and love it. I noticed it doesn't seem to last as long as regular bar soaps but I guess thats to be expected out of an all natural product. The sent is good but fades pretty fast. I plan on trying the other soaps they have to try out the different scents and see if any last longer than others. I would like to see a more woodsy musky scent for fall.

Used it on my yeard for the first time and came back the next day, the bar of soap was nasty & goopy. At this rate, the bar was going to be down the drain and not used on my yeard. I then got the idea to make the bar smaller. I used a hot knife and cut the bar into 9 smaller bars. This way, I can use a small portion of it and not lose the rest to the drain monster.

Love the scent not too strong at all and it washes out (so scent does not stay on you. Read reviews online before purchase best recommendation is to slice it into 4 small pieces (it is soft like fudge). Store in a dish outside shower lathers great! Leaves my beard soft and moisturized. Also my beard ruff has gone after a few uses. I highly recommend as part of your beard maintenance made a big difference to me 2 x a week and I have not needed to oil my beard.

Lasts a long time, has a pleasing light spicy smell that doesn’t hang around. Absolutely gentle on beards and makes you feel clean and fresh from the weeks food and beverage left-behinds. There is a mild menthol/eucalyptus fragrance that I personally like. If you don’t like that, it would be a deal-breaker perhaps. I use it, and put right back into its sturdy paper box which is sort of “sealed with soap” and acts as a perfect container.

Excelente jabón para barba, aunque también puede utilizarse en todo el cuerpo, la sensación de limpieza que deja es sorprendente por lo que el precio y el aroma hacen que este producto para mi tenga 5 estrellas. Hay otras opciones con aromas o con sensación de arcilla, la cual limpian mejor si tienes piel muerta o descamación excesiva. Esta presentación, la de barra "amarilla" es la más suave y una opción si nunca has probado esta marca.El inconveniente al ser un jabón artesanal es dejarlo bajo la ducha o en un trasto que pueda recoger agua el jabón se hará una pasta y no lo podrás volver a usar con facilidad.Actualización enero 2018:El producto lo compré por primera vez en septiembre 2017, aunque solo son 6 Oz y con un uso diario solo para limpiar la barba de 6 cm aproximadamente aún conservo más de la mitad de la barra.

De lejos el mejor jabón que he utilizado en mi barba. El olor no es extraordinario (eso ya es una opinión muy personal) pero agradable.La textura es muy suave y con muy poco crea bastante espuma. Lo utilizo a diário y dura meses con una barba bastante larga (4/ 5cms). Deja la barba limpia y nutrida y además está hecho de ingredientes naturales.Eso sí mantenerlo en un pequeño tuper ya que debajo de la ducha se gasta en nada.Es bastante caro pero merece la pena y a lo largo compensa si lo comparamos con otros jabones o shampoos para barba.

The slick really builds up a nice lather for the beard, face and body. Kind of weird that it comes in a solid bar as opposed to in a bottle, but as long as you have a soap tray in the shower it will last a couple months maybe more depending on washing cycles. Shipping to Canada wasn't the greatest value, but overall I am happy with the product!

Definitely one of the best soaps I've used. Keeps my beard smelling great all day. The soap itself lasts forever and definitely worth it. This soap is highly recommended.

Very nice product. Impressed. What a beautiful smell. Keep up the good work. Feels natural on the skin. Keeps beard healthy. Wish price was lower. Price is high due to heavy import duty in India i guess.
