I use these pencils to write my friends names under their pieces and they work great. I just wet the pencil a little and write whatever I want without the glaze lead breaking. Works great!

black pencil pottery underglaze for small details
I haven't fired my cup yet but I used this underglaze pencil. It's good for small detail. I'm sure like regular underglaze it will look much darker after I get it into a kiln. I never used the pencil before so it's different. It's pretty cool. Good quality. These things are always expensive but for two they seemed to have lowered the cost.It looks a little ugly but that's just me and my talent lol...
